Genre: Dystopian Erotic Romance
For years, Jared has existed on the fringes of both Eden society and Dallas O'Kane's Sector Four gang. He travels between these worlds, protected by his money and power--money he earned selling his body, and power that comes from knowing secrets. He's untouchable—until he starts a new life gathering intelligence for the O'Kanes.
Lili Fleming walked out of Sector Five with a gun, the bloodstained clothes on her back, and an icy determination to survive. She finds herself in a world where people live hard and love harder, and nothing's more terrifying than how much the O'Kanes wake her up, make her feel—especially Jared.
Emotion is a risk he can't afford, and a complication she doesn't need. But neither can resist the lust simmering between them, and the sparks that could either melt the ice around both their hearts…or get them killed. Because the only thing more dangerous than loving an O'Kane is loving a spy.
Ahhhh. How much do I love the Beyond series, Sector four and the O’Kane’s? Let me count the ways...
To say that I love the Beyond series is an understatement, I absolutely adore it. It has everything that I love in a series: Great writing. Well thought out plot lines. Characters that you become emotionally invested in. And in this series case: Hot steamy need a cold shower or your BOB sex scenes and Beyond Innocence delivers on all of that.
Jared and Lili are the main focus of this book and I have to say that I liked them both. Jared I’ve liked since he first appeared in the series and much of it had to do with his relationship with Ace and how well he knew him. But now we really get to see just how his mind works and just how good he is at reading a situation and hell if that didn’t make him even sexier. Lili was someone I felt pity for at being in the situation she was in, even though she was a sector leader’s daughter she was treated as if she were nothing more than an object and I have to say that I really like the Lili that emerges at the end of the book. I have to be honest and admit that I did snarl at her in the beginning because of how she saw the O’Kane’s. Was it understandable? Yes considering what she’d dealt with in Sector five, but I still snarled. And as much as I enjoyed her journey in finding herself, I felt that something was missing from it. I can’t put my finger on what it is specifically but I just felt as if there should have been a little more to her evolution.
As far as Jared and Lili as a couple, I thought they were a perfect fit. While it starts off as Jared being a pillar of support for Lili in an unknown world it slowly morphs into more as he helps her to see not only who the O’Kane’s really are, but herself as well and in the process starts to allow the parts of him he thought dead and gone to slowly come back to life. Of course part of her awakening is quite physical and the sex between them was sweet and dirty...one scene in particular was panty melting, but then again how could it not be considering who else was involved.
And then there is just the chaos of what is going on in the world. Sector five is dealing with not only the death of it’s leader, but his second, Sector three is slowly healing with the O’Kane’s help and Dallas and Lex’s plans for Sector four and Eden are starting to come together, with the help of Jared and even Lili. There were a few surprises and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out in the end. But the best part of it all for me is getting to catch up with the various people we’ve met along the way. I love seeing how the various couples are doing and how they’ve grown into themselves and their relationships as well as getting to learn more about those that help to make the world go round like Gia and Hawk and getting a glimpse of what’s possibly coming from Mad, Jade, Scarlet and Doc.
Overall: This series as a whole is my not so secret guilty pleasure. It’s hedonistic, sweet, dirty, sexy and fun with great characters and well thought out storylines. I do recommend that you start from the beginning of the series since each book builds on the previous ones. All in all the Beyond series is one of the best dystopian erotic romance series out there and I can’t wait to see what the writing duo is going to serve up next!

Once upon a time, two best friends decided to write paranormal romance. And while that was awesome, they also sometimes wanted to write insanely dirty stuff that wasn’t paranormal at all. This is that stuff.
