ARE YOU READY TO GET CUFFED?
As a cop, Levi Kincaid is all about discipline and control . . .in the bedroom, and out of it, and he's always been very careful about choosing women who abide by his rules. Hot sex and intense pleasure? No problem. Emotional commitment and forever promises? No way. But he never anticipates falling for a blue eyed angel who makes him want to cuff her to his bed and do dirty, sexy things to her. And that control of his? It doesn't stand a chance against Sarah Robins, the one woman he can't resist . .
Once again, these authors hit it out of the park. Besides the dirty, sexy cover of the book, the words on the pages are intense and gripping. The chemistry between Levi and Sarah is off the charts and held my attention from the first page. Levi is the definition of an Alpha Male both in and out of the bedroom- he has control issues that are deep seeded. However, he is able to see the need to show his sensitive side and realizes he must handle Sarah with kid gloves if he is going to make any headway with her~ especially since he's not used to working so hard to get a woman to go on a date with him.
Levi fell for Sarah, or at least saw her as a challenge, the moment he met her working her late night job at the local convenience store. It was in a seedy part of town, but he had no way to know she was running from her past that just might cause trouble for both of them. Sarah doesn't trust herself to make sound decisions, based on her past performance, but she trusts Levi enough to give him a shot at one date. She's planning on moving on soon after the date, so there's no harm done by spending one evening with him. Right?
That night is illuminating for both of them and they discover they have a lot in common. They have so much in common, that sharing their painful pasts becomes a stepping stone to a strong foundation, provided they can take that leap of faith and let go of their pasts. This is what I loved the most- they both had poor examples of what relationships should look like or how adults should behave, but they are willing to take that risk with each other. He provides a safe place for her to land when her world seems to be falling apart and she is there to comfort him when he's struggling through his own recovery and memories of things he'd rather forget.
Well written! Great pacing and wonderfully developed characters make this a quick read, but I admit to not wanting to put it down. What's next? And what about Levi's brothers? Will there be books about them? (There should be!) This could be read as a standalone book- you don't need to read the first two books in the series to understand this book, but then you'd be missing out on fabulous stories! Great team effort and I'm looking forward to more!
