It isn't often that I review a non-fiction book. This is the second time in as many weeks I've done so.
When I first received the copy, I quickly read the book thinking to put into practice what McMunn suggested should be done. Specifically in the marketing area since I have already written a book. However, in the time since I've received his work and now, many suggestions must be modified. Not at all due to his inaccurate representations but because Amazon keeps effing with their algorithms as does Facebook.
McMunn's advice is SPOT ON, BRILLIANT and many authors should follow it whether it is there first or twenty-first book. I cannot tell you how sick I am of seeing the Facebook post of the author who is "fed up," or "going to quit" if they don't get sales. Take Nike's advice and DO IT! Quit. Get out of the way for authors who are not bellyaching about having to work hard and pay their dues.
I am not a bestselling author - YET, but I will be. It won't be because I've cried my fake tears each time I put out a release either. It will be because I've heeded the advice of those who ARE bestselling authors. I've heeded the advice of my publishing house and I've heeded the advice of Richard McMunn.
