The trouble with humans is that they're far too sensitive. Forget you put a woman in the local jail for a few months--and she takes it so personally! And yet she is the one trying to assassinate the queen. And now I'm trapped with Elina Shestakova of the Black Bear Riders of the Midnight…gods! That endless name!
But what am I to do? I am Celyn the Charming with direct orders from my queen to protect this unforgiving female.
Even more shocking, this unforgiving female is completely unimpressed by me. How is that even possible? But I know what I want and, for the moment, I want her. And I'm sure that she, like all females, will learn to adore me. How could she not when I am just so damn charming?
I received an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review.
The craziness of the world of the Dragon Kin is back and it is freakin’ amazing. Everything that you’ve come to expect from G.A. Aiken is in it and more. The romantic focus is on Celyn the Charming. who at one time courted Izzy, and Elina of the Ridiculously Long Name, trust me it’s long and this is so much easier to type out, while not up there with my favorite couples of the series, Elina certainly kept Celyn off balance for much of the book, which was quite amusing, and she fits right in with the rest of the women. Now while Celyn and Elina may not have totally gotten me going they did get down and dirty and it was pretty damn hot. The overall story arc was pure genius. We get to catch up with everyone and then some in this story, and while the years have passed they are all the crazy dragons and their mates we’ve come to know and love, as well as few new twists thrown into the mix. I laughed out loud at their form of showing affection for each other more times than I can count. Dagmar, the Beast, and Izzy still stand as two of my favorite females of the series, but then there is Annwyl, no one can touch her and her rages. This was just an amazing book all around and a great addition to the series.
