"Some say the past is in the past. That vengeance will hurt both innocent and guilty. I never believed those lies. Once my lust for revenge is sated, I'll say goodbye to hatred. I'll find a new beginning."
SIN & SUFFER
She came from a past Arthur "Kill" Killian never forgot. She made him sin and made him suffer. She tugged him from the shadows and showed him he wasn't as dead as he thought. And with her resurrection came betrayal, deceit, and war.
But then they took her. Stole her. Imprisoned her.
Now Kill's carefully laid plans for vengeance are complete. He craves action, retribution-the blood of his enemies. War has begun. War is all they'll know until they've paid their penance. He will get her back-and rewrite their destiny . . .
After finishing Ruin & Rule I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Sin & Suffer. After all the crazy that happened in it between Arthur aka Kill and Cleo and that cliffhanger ending I HAD to know how the rest of their story would play out and I have to say that Ms. Winters did not disappoint! Sin & Suffer brought out all the feels as Kill and Cleo got to know each other once more and worked to let go of their pasts and kept me at the edge of my seat as all of Kill’s plans for vengeance and beyond were revealed.
In Ruin & Rule I really liked both Cleo and Kill and that didn’t change at all in Sin & Suffer in fact I liked them even more and it has to do with the way their relationship progressed. With the whole woman of mystery thing obliterated now that Cleo’s memories are coming back, we now get to watch as they connect again. While they don’t question their connection to each other or the fact that they do love each other, there are other aspects that take a little more time to solidify between them and most of it has to do with Kill’s plans for vengeance and beyond. Though they care and love for each other and the sexual chemistry between them is as hot as ever, they still go through the whole getting to know you issues and doubt still simmers beneath the surface as to if they will have a future together once all the cards are laid out on the table.
I really enjoyed how all the twists and turns in the plot were revealed and resolved throughout the book. Some I guessed at, others were a surprise but worked within the world of the Pure Corruption MC, which had quite a unique set up when it comes to MC’s. Though this book was not as dark as the previous, it was just as intense and that feeling didn’t let up until the very end.
Now that Cleo and Kill’s story has been told I’m hoping that Grasshopper gets his own book because he was one of my favorites and I’d love to get his story and keep up with all the characters that we’ve met.
The Bottom Line: An intense, keep you at the edge of your seat read that is a must read if you read Ruin & Rule.
