Nick and Simone’s second chance at love story was always going to be an explosive one and let me tell you the sparks flew constantly whether it was from the sexual chemistry between them to their clashes of stubborn will, but all that did was prove how perfect they were for each other.
I ended up loving Nick. He’s is the quintessential protective, dominate, panty melting alpha male but to top it all off the man is so damn honorable and self sacrificing he simply melted my heart. Once I found out why he broke Simone’s heart it was so hard to not fall in love with the guy. Did this mean that I didn’t want to smack upside the head a few times? No, because his is male after all, but he made forgiving his alpha demon nature really easy.
Simone I loved as well. She is a strong and intelligent woman and her ambition to be leader of the Coven Nine was scarily awe inspiring. Her loyalty not only to the witches, but to those she considered hers, was something I adored. Her determination to show that she could take care of herself was something I admired in one breath, but also had me wanting to shake her at times. I’m all about a woman being strong and kickass but sometimes you need to step back, take a look at the big picture and let others do for you.
Nick and Simone’s road to their HEA was a rocky, but fun one. Simone tried so hard to keep her heart from Nick, but it really was a losing battle from the start. Nick may have broken it, but a piece always belonged to him. And as she finds out why he left her and sees the alpha male demon he’s become she finds that the piece that belongs to him is much larger than she let herself believe.
This book took me on such a crazy fun ride that I feel like I need to find myself a little hidey hole and get at least a week of R & R. Not only are we still dealing with plankenite and the drug Apollo, the charges against Simone and finding out who has it out for her, but then Ms. Zanetti throws out a couple of HUGE twists that were of course perfectly done, but still left me wondering where they hell they came from. Then there are all the characters that we know and adore and I loved catching up with all of them and I’m thrilled that Adam and Tori are up next in the battersbox, but I really, really, REALLY want more of Flynn, so I’m keeping my toes crossed that we see him more as the series progress!

Simone Brightston knows she can beat the rap her enemies are pinning on her. An Irish witch is nobody's fool, and she didn't get to her position on the high council without serious power. But her cousins want her to hide out—and they somehow convinced her arch nemesis to play getaway driver.
Of all the men she's known, Nikolaj Veis is the hardest to intimidate. With his demon-dark eyes and his inscrutable beauty, he's as desirable as he is dangerous. And he knows better than to underestimate Simone. So when he pulls up on a roaring bike and tells her to climb on or fight it out, she grabs a handful of jacket and holds on tight. Running from the law may not be the smartest plan. But when it comes to Nick, hot pursuit and a blazing fast ride are exactly what Simone's looking for . . .
