Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.
Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…
One of my off days of not writing, when I needed a little head cleansing moment, I came across this author in my must read pile. Alice Clayton is a great writer, if your looking for a laugh, or a book to put a smile on your face. This is the book to pick up and lose yourself in the comedy romance of Caroline and Simon. I had tears of laughter running down my face, from the poor love lorn cat Clive, who only wanted to be near his lady love Purina, cause she meowed during sex, through the bedroom walls. The funny names Alice Clayton comes up with for Simon's harem are perfect. When I was reading and giggling at the noises each one made, and came through Caroline's and Simon's bedroom walls. I kept thinking, I would so do something like that.
The slow start to the relationship that Caroline and Simon develop is perfect. It keeps you turning the page wanting to see what's going to happen next with Caroline and her two girlfriends, and Simon and his two buddies.
The way the story develops and their friends hook up at a party, but then they really don't when they realize they want what the other has. The trip to Tahoe changes up the game and everyone gets on the right track. With a little help from Simon and Caroline. While Simon and Caroline get closer during this, they have their moments. The growing friendship they have, is romantic that it's not all about sex, but just another part of the getting to know each other phase. I love the end when they finally come together and make one huge mess in the kitchen. That I have to say was perfect. Now knowing that her next book in the Cocktail Series is soon to come out, I have it pre-ordered. I can't get enough of this author.
