It's her last chance at freedom...
Andrasta, Celtic goddess of victory, has fled the cold, sterile wasteland of Otherworld for the steamy South American jungle. It's only a matter of time before the vengeful gods catch and punish her - unless she can convince the man she betrayed two thousand years ago to help…
And only her enemy can save her
Born in Otherworld to the life of a god, Camulos went rogue centuries ago. He's living on the banks of the Amazon, boxing in bare-knuckled fights. The gods believe he's dead - until Ana finds him. Ana, the woman who gave him nothing but trouble, and the woman he could never forget…
Even the gods have secrets
Thrown together, Ana and Cam must evade the wrath of the gods and a return to the living death of Otherworld. But as they flee through the jungle - and as their passion ignites - they find themselves at the heart of an ancient secret. One that could kill them both and extinguish their souls forever…

Talk about a convoluted yet enjoyable ride.
Ana, the Celtic Goddess of War and Victory, hates being in the Otherworld and has always done all she can to escape it’s unemotional walls even if only for a few hours. Now she’s reached her limit and wants out, for good, and the only one that she believes can help her is Camulous, the very male who put her in that position. And while I’d love to go further into explaining that one, I won’t. In part because it would be too much of a spoiler and the other because you really do need to read this and experience the whole WTF/convoluted/twisted yet well written and thought out clusterf*ck that is Ana’s and Cam’s relationship.
I’ve loved Ana since reading Soulceress. Her open acceptance of who Esha was and their tight friendship was the start, but her vivacious nature and just open joy of everything she experienced, while still be a kickass Goddess, made her a fun character to get to know and in this book she is that and more. Camulous was fun and sexy. When we met him I thought he was going to be an uber alpha gruff ass, but while he was uber alpha and somewhat gruff, he is so not an ass. He tries his best to be, but fails. Ana and Cam’s relationship, as I said, is quite convoluted but as we learn about their past in flashbacks, which were done quite well, and watch them dance around each other and try to not to be attracted to each you find that they fit quite well together.
Though I have said that Ana and Cam’s relationship is just a bit of a clusterf*ck, the writing of it was done very well and not only did I enjoy their backstory, but that of the Celtic Gods and how they came to be as they are.
Overall: I’m really enjoying this series and looking forward to seeing what comes next.
