A QUEST FOR HAPPINESS
Resigned to a lonely life after a fierce betrayal of the man who broke her spirit, Meg Alpin retreats to her family’s castle. In her pursuit to move on with her life, she uncovers long buried secrets and discovers something magical amidst the furniture in the tower. In one instant, her dull world is given bright new meaning in the form of a Highlander too magnificent, too handsome to be real.
A DESIRE FOR FREEDOM
Cursed and caged in a mirror by a gypsy, Ronan Galt’s existence is complete darkness and unquenchable need. When he’s brought back into the light, his distrust of women is at odds with his instant attraction to the beautiful and strong Meg. In his quest to be free of his prison, he will learn the true meaning of love – but will it be too late to claim the woman that was destined to be his?
This book was interesting, where most book have the male who gets stuck inside a mirror by a curse, only to get released in the present day, this one has it set in the 16th century with Ronana and Meg, and their story. I always enjoyed a good scottish male character. Ronan is one man that you shake your head over at his chauvinistic attitude at the start. But once you read what made him this way you feel for the guy. Living in this era was not easy for second sons. Meg's story follows about the same, with getting dumped and life as she know it being at an end and everything being the shits. This is why when she finds Ronan you cheer the two on, waiting for them to have their moment of connecting then getting a just HEA.
Breaking the Gypsy curse once and for all. Both learning the little things in life are more important. This being book one of this series I'm anxious to see what else Donna has in store.
