He's Gone Rogue
Ex-Navy SEAL Rock Babineaux’s job is to get information, and he’s one of the best in the business. Until something goes horribly wrong and he’s being hunted by his own government. Even his best friends at the covert special-ops organization Black Knights Inc. aren’t sure they can trust him. He thinks he can outrun them all, but his former partner—a curvy bombshell who knows just how to drive him wild—refuses to cut him loose.
She Won't Back Down
Vanessa Cordova hasn’t been the team’s communication specialist very long, but she knows how to read people—no way is Rock guilty of murder. And she’ll go to hell and back to help him prove it. Sure, the sexy Cajun has his secrets, but there’s no one in the world she’d rather have by her side in a tight spot. Which is good, because they’re about to get very tight…
Fast paced and fun. This book had a ton of action and the way that the Knight’s and those closest to them came together in an effort to figure out who had burned Rock was fun and actually quite interesting. I enjoyed watching the pieces of the puzzle snap into place and can say that I was entirely surprised at how the whole situation was taken cared of, but it made sense after everything had come to light. Then there is Rock and Vanessa. While I still think they’re in the lusting/almost in love mode, I can see them being together in the end. We’ll just chalk up the acceleration from lust to love due to the highly stressful situation that surrounded Rock. And while I liked Rock, Vanessa drove me batshit crazy through the majority of the book. While I understood her reactions to certain situations, I found them overdone and irritating since I had been under the impression that she was an operator as well, maybe not at the level as Rock or Boss since she was brought in as a communication specialist, but she had worked with others like them prior to joining Black Knights, Inc and when one compares her reactions to those of Becky and Eve it was a bit much for me. Other than that, I loved it when the Knights were all together, especially when it came to the vibrator issue which was a great touch and had me laughing outloud.
