Actress Trish Ryder takes her job seriously and has no time for those who don’t. When she’s awarded a major role in a new movie featuring America’s hottest rock star, Boone Stryker, she’s beyond excited. The six-two, tattooed hunk of burning desire is known for his dedication to his craft—but when he ditches their first meeting, she begins to wonder if he’s just another rocker with a great PR team.
Sex, booze, women, and music pretty much sum up Boone Stryker’s private world. He’s coasted through life playing by his own rules with plenty of people willing to cover his tracks, and he’s not likely to change—until he meets a woman who refuses to give him the time of day, much less anything more.
Sparks fly from the first moment Trish and Boone meet—Tensions run hot and desire runs hotter when they’re trapped together on a remote location with no place to hide. Will sparks ignite, or will a hurricane douse the flames?
While this isn't the first Ryder family book I've read, it felt as if Trish's story was brand new, yet oddly like coming home after being gone for a while.
Trish Ryder, has it all, or so it seems. A loving family, a job she loves, and now, with the role of Delia, she just may have an Oscar. If she can get the womanizing Boone Strker to pull his head out of his ass and learn to act.
Boone doesn't give a shit about what anyone think of his carefully constructed public image. He's touted himself as a typical rocker and hasn't bothered changing Trish's perception. He's too busy trying to keep his childhood friend clean from drugs and alcohol. But he learns to care when their award winning Director sends them off to a remote farmhouse.
Now can we say sparks fly, hot rocker, perfect outdoor, in the rain, action and let us finish up inside! Melissa Foster knows how to bring your deepest fantasies to life. Now to meet the man she used as a muse! (waves paper fan to cool down) My own imagination made Boone hotter than the kindle could handle!
The characters are believable. Each having their preconceived notions, insecurities, pet peeves and here we go into the book world where it is fantasy, not reality. I wish the book were longer to see more of of the day to day give and take. Melissa gave us a great glimpse into that time where Boone and Trish were learning about each other. Hints of their growing romance not just the physical relationship, though this part was off the charts.
My favorite part is the introduction to Boone's family. Cage, Mags and Lucky sound like a spin-off in the making. Their camaraderie, love and acceptance of Trish is beautiful, thoughtful and shows just how much they love their brother. How they all gather round to help out Honor and Jude, lifelong friends, set their brother straight about his choices for PR to cover his whereabouts when with family. (Love to see Cage and Boone go head to head)
The best part, for me was at the end when Boone thought he was going to have his ass handed to him by the Director for improvising. Chuck surprised everyone with what he did and said. But if you want to know what happened, you'll just have to read the book and find out. :)
