After the way Sugar Daddy ended I was actually more interested in what would happen between Sela and Beck than about how Sela would continue on with her quest to destroy JT and I was very happy with the way everything played out. It wasn’t drawn out and beaten to death at all. It was handled in the exact ways I’d come to expect from both Beck and Sela. It took them both a while to get past the emotional upheaval and become the calm and collected individuals they are, but they did and I gotta say that I adored Beck for how he went after Sela to get her back.
Once they were back together I loved how open and honest they became with each other. The catalyst for it was painful, but they worked through it and what I really liked seeing was how much they wanted to ensure the others happiness. Both of them agreed that JT needed to be held accountable for his crimes, not only the one against Sela, but neither wanted the other to do something that would come back to kick them in ass, or put a stain on their souls.
I really liked how everything played out in this book from the plot twists that popped up to how I was kept at the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next with JT and if the plan Sela and Beck came up with would work. There were a few things that surprised me and a couple of things I guessed at, and turned out to be right about, and all of them were woven well into the fabric of the story and made for an enjoyable and quick read. This one also ends in a cliffhanger of sorts, though I didn’t find it as explosive as Sugar Daddy’s, it still packed a punch and I can’t wait to find out how everything will be resolved in Sugar Free!
