As Sean and Liam struggle with their growing craving for each other an old enemy steps out of the shadows. With secrets lurking and fate twisting twoworlds together a sacrifice must be made, but can the two mates live with the consequences?
“You don’t have to stay here with me,” Liam murmured.
Sean twisted the cap off Liam’s root beer and pressed the condensation-slick bottle to Liam’s hand until his slender fingers curled around it.
“I know,” he responded, studying a drop of moisture slipping off the bottle to make a damp trail along Liam’s hand.
“Guarding me?” After propping the bottle between his thighs, Liam licked the drop that had traveled to the pulsing blue vein of his wrist.
“I can be around you without being part of your protective detail.” Sean swallowed past his suddenly parched throat. The man had no idea how seductive his innocent movements were.
Liam reached out until his hand was on Sean’s thigh. “Just giving you a hard time.”
You have no idea.
His cock perked up and took interest in Liam’s hand being so near. If Liam had any clue how much Sean was drawn to him, the man would probably run full speed in the other direction, no matter how many twigs he tripped over. All Sean’s wolf wanted to do was rub against Liam and put as much of his scent as possible on the man.
Wolves, pack drama, and reluctant mates... oh my! Everything that I love in a shifter book was packed in the pages of Wolf's Sacrifice. I have to admit, Inever got to finish the first of this series "Scent of a Wolf" but after reading the second book... I am digging it out of the digital library and adding itto my TBR list. (It was not that I did not want to finish the first book, it wasaround the holidays and I just set it aside and... well you know how the holidaysare, right?) Anyway, now I really, really, really want to pick it back up and put all the pieces together.
From the first chapter I was totally hooked in on this book. I loved that Sean was so protective and caring along with being so reluctant to act on his desires. Having his would be mate have a "disability" just adds to the part where my emotions had me totally into this story. The whole reluctant mate thing, of course appealed to me, but it was not like most of the shifter books I had read before. (no spoilers as to why, just trust me, it's a great plot addition to the whole story!)
Liam, oh Liam! How could readers not love what he was trying to do to protect Sean in his own way despite his own desires? I sure loved his selflessness and more than once was mumbling "just tell him" to my e-reader! His own story is tragic and adds to his appeal as well as his connection to the reader. Through the whole story, his strength... was awesome.
If you are looking for a shifter series to read, and one that will pull you in from the first page to the last, I suggest that you give Draven St. James andher Pack of Light series a try! Though I LOVED Wolf's Sacrifice, it would probably beneficial for you to start with the first book in the series, Scentof a Wolf. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
