INTERVIEW WITH TAD

Meagen: Leaning against the Jeep, she knew to be Tad's and waited for him to exit the school where things were wrapping up for the night. It wouldn't be long now. Scott, after all, had given her a heads up about when his classes ended. Across the parking lot, she spotted Tad exiting the building. His gaze was down, checking his phone, so he didn't see her right away. She watched him walk toward her, noting the look of concentration on his face. He had an easy way about him. Relaxed and yet, his stride was determined as he moved unsuspectingly forward. Scott was a lucky man.

"Tad. Hi."

He looked up, stopping mid-step, and stared at her. She waited for him to say something, but he merely glanced over his shoulder in confusion.

"I'm Meagen. I’ve been trying to set up an interview with you, but somehow you’ve managed to dodge all my calls and haven’t returned my messages. Scott suggested I catch up with you here. He said you might have a few minutes after your classes to talk."

Tad: Blinking, he wrapped his brain around this Meagan chick’s words.

Interview. Phone calls. Messages. Scott.

Ohhhh shit.

Inwardly groaning, he flashed a sheepish grin. “Oh. Right. Meagen. Hey. ” She gave him a little wave. Chuckling, he cleared his throat, glancing anxiously toward his Jeep. “So… Scott told you where to find me, huh?” When she nodded, he smirked and shook his head, muttering under his breath, “He’s so gonna pay for this.” Gesturing to his ride, he offered a friendly smile. "Um... Do you wanna go grab some coffee? While we uh... interview... or whatever?"

Meagen: Smiling, she nodded and waited for him to unlock the doors. Once they were in and on their way, she watched him for a second and could see him white knuckling the steering wheel. She wanted to laugh, but she also felt for him. She knew from listening to Scott that Tad was shy and not a sharer at heart, so she had to tread lightly. Right? Oh, what the hell. She was only getting one shot at this. Without censoring her question, she waited until he parked and had his hand on the door handle before asking, "So, how was your class? Or maybe we could discuss your last workout with Scott? Did he put you through your paces? Seems like he'd be a task master."

Tad: Stiffening, he glanced at Meagen. "Uhh..." He jiggled the door handle. "Yeah. He's a hard ass for sure." Wincing at his words, he looked away, tugging a bit harder on the handle. Why the fuck wouldn't the damn thing--Oh. Right. Still locked. He thumbed the unlock button and shoved open his door. Meagen met him on the sidewalk in front of the café, looking as if she was waiting for him to elaborate. Ugh. He'd have to be careful. Once he got stated talking about Scott, he might never stop.

Tugging open the door for her, they head inside and snagged a tall table by the window. Situated on his high-back, he gave a small shrug. "I mean, don't get me wrong. He rocks at what he does. At everything he does." His lips curved wryly. "I just think he gets a bit too much pleasure out of torturing people, is all." He chuckled and shook his head. "He's a punk like that."

Megan: She smiled with a nod. "I'd have to agree. He seems to revel in poking at people and pushing them to their limits. He even did that when I interviewed him. Teased and tried to make me blush." They both ordered their drinks and as Tad sat on the edge of his seat. Meagen, however, settled back in her chair. "Do you mind if I record what you say so I can refer to it later if I need to so I don't misrepresent you?" He shrugged an okay. Setting her phone on the table, she pressed the record button. "Thanks. So, tell me, if you can, how are things going for you? You've been dealing with a lot of changes lately in terms of your relationships with your friends and with Scott." He visibly paled. Quickly, she shook her head. "Sorry. Don't mean to be so blunt, but I don't see a reason to beat around the bush here. I really like Scott and love the way he approaches life, but I'm also curious about you."

Tad: Yeeeaaaah, definitely not beating around the bush.

Shifting on his chair, Tad scratched his neck, warily eyeing her recorder. “Okay. Well. Um. Hmm. How are things going for me...” He scanned the nearby tables of customers. No one appeared to be eavesdropping. Thank God. Now, how to answer her question. Shit. He could feel his cheeks getting warm. Fuck it. This was his first opportunity ever to talk to someone, other than Scott, about all the stuff bumping around in his head. Might as well take advantage of it. This Meagen girl seemed understanding enough. And even kind of nice.

Clearing his throat, he looked back at her and shrugged. “Well, I think I’ve come a long way, actually, from where I was before Scott. A lot of shit… er… stuff shifted the night we met.” Hot cheeks. Scorching hot cheeks as he remembered said night in vivid detail. Meagen just smiled and nodded for him to continue. He chuckled awkwardly. “Anyway… Seems there’s a part of me that never felt the need to reveal itself until Scott came along. But it’s definitely out there now. At least to me.” He looked down at the napkin he was fiddling with. “And I’m pretty sure to Scott, too. Last time we hung out…” His lips curved. “Well, a lot of big milestones were reached. It was…. a good night.” His smile faded. “But it ended kind of rough. So I gotta work on some stuff. Smooth some things out.” He shifted again on his seat, a soft groan crawling up his throat. “Gotta tell me friends. And family and stuff. Haven’t quite figured out how to do that.” His eyes shot back up to Meagen’s. “But I’m going to. I’m definitely going

to.” He shook his head adamantly. “No way would I do Scott wrong. No way. ” He glanced away, voice dropping. “Shit, I’d do anything for that guy.”

Meagen: His confession made her wonder if he was even aware he'd voiced his desires out loud. He seemed to be having several internal conversations with himself. He did, however, seem relieved to have shared. "I'd have to agree with you. I think you’ve come a long way, too." When Tad continued to blush, his hazel eyes continuously scanning the room, Meagen glanced around, too, making sure they were indeed still having a private conversation. "Tad. Nobody’s paying any attention to us. They’re all in their own little coffee worlds. And since no one’s giving us the time of day, how do you think you might smooth things out, as you said? Do you have a plan for that?" He seemed to be thinking quite hard. So hard, in fact, that she worried he was going to shut down. "Am I getting too personal? Scott was pretty open with me, but he’s in a different place than you with everything. So, if this is too much, I understand. But I hope you know you can trust me with your story. I happen to have a soft spot for the two of you."

Tad: He smiled and sat back. “Thanks. I think. And nah, you’re good. Not asking me anything I haven’t been thinking about already.” He went quiet as the waitress returned to drop off their coffees. Once she was gone, he shrugged and palmed his steaming mug. “I’m gonna tell my friends this weekend. Saturday, actually. After the club hopping gig for my buddy Breck’s birthday on Friday.” Meagen made an approving sound. Tad chuckled and shook his head. “Yeah. Should be fun. Knowing them, twenty questions will ensue, half being stuff I have no idea how to answer and the other being totally mortifying.” Meagen winced sympathetically and Tad laughed. “Yeah. My friends have no tact.”

Again, he shrugged then proceeded to load his coffee with a shit ton of sugar. “Anyway. Yeah, that’s part A of my plan. Part B is putting the ball back in Scott’s court.” He tilted his head in thought. “It’s been in mine for a long time. Since the very beginning, really. I know this. But I kinda need him to take the lead now, if for nothing else than to give me an idea of where HE’s truly at in all this.” A smaller shrug. “I mean, I know he likes me. And really enjoys introducing me to this whole new world. And I know he wants me out so that I’m free to do what makes me happy. But then what? I mean, what does HE want? Ya know?” He looked back up at Meagen and sighed. “Now that I know where MY head is, I gotta find out where HIS is. What HE wants. Because…” He swallowed back a boyish chuckle, feeling his cheeks reheat. “Because what I want is him. With me. Exclusively.” His brain wandered back to Kai. The guy he’d been stressing about ever since Tuesday at the gym. His smile faded. “But I’m not sure those feelings are entirely mutual.”

Meagen: She blew across the surface of her drink before taking a sip. She watched him relax in front of her. It wasn't a sudden change. It was a gradual loosening of his shoulders and a shift in his position in the chair. Little things if you weren't looking for them. But she was. So, when his demeanor shifted, she leaned forward and rested her elbows on the table, mug still in her hand. "I'm really impressed with your determination. You seem really... good with things." She smiled softly. "But tell me what you mean by putting the ball in Scott's court. I'm not sure I understand." Tad stared past her, thinking, so she let

that hang between them for nearly minute before finally urging him to answer. "Tad? You’re going to be going out on a limb here, emotionally I mean, trusting your buddies to be accepting of all this. Is doing that your way of putting Scott on the starting block so to speak? Making it his turn to step up and put himself out there, so that you’re both on equal footing?"

Tad: He chuckled at that. “Not really sure what there is he could do. Mostly I’m just giving him the wheel.” He sat back, finger running idly along the handle of his mug. “This weekend I’m gonna tell him that I’ve finally got my head on straight. That I know what my deal is. No more second guessing. That my friends know. That my family knows. And that I’m one hundred percent good with it all. And from there,” he smiled warily, “hopefully he’ll not just congratulate me but ask me to ride shotgun with him from here on out. That I wasn’t just some challenge, a guy to lure “out” while having a little fun.” He dragged a hand through his hair. “Because now that I know my deal is for sure? I wanna keep going. But I wanna keep going with him.” His chuckled, shaking his head. “Seems Tuesday helped solidify more than just my sexuality. Turns out I’ve got it bad for the guy.” His smile faded completely as Kai’s face reemerged in his mind. “And now I don’t want to share him.” He looked at Meagen. “So by putting the ball in his court, letting him know where I stand, hopefully he’ll tell me where he stands, too.”

Meagen: "I'm impressed. Really. You seem to have this all figured out." He looked down at his mug and chuckled. She waited until he lifted his gaze again and tapped her fingers against the table. "Tad. Do you really think the guys you've been buddies with for so long are going to be open minded? That they won't object to this?" Her words sounded harsh, even as she said them. Quickly, she put her hand up before he could speak. "Wait. It’s not fair of me to assume they’ll be like many men in my generation. I'm older, so you are growing up in a much more accepting society. I worry about you, I guess. I wouldn't want your friends to hurt you thoughtlessly." She took a deep breath and sighed hard. "Truly. I'm sorry. Out of line. Seeing you up and close and personal, it’s clear how much you care for Scott."

Tad: He shook his head. "No worries. It's okay. A completely legit question. And again, nothing I haven't considered way too much already on my own." He forced a smile, absently rubbing his thighs. "But yeah, for the most part I do think my friends will be okay with this. I mean, don't get me wrong. I think they'll be surprised..." He frowned, thinking about past conversations with them. "Or maybe they won't..." He shook the thought away. "But no matter what, it'll definitely be an adjustment. Especially for them. But they'll adapt. If they want to keep me close, that is." A genuine smile curved his lips. "But my boys, they're kick ass like that. And they love me. Like I love them. So, we'll work it out." He palmed his coffee with both hands and laughed. "I'm definitely expecting some serious razzing, though. Because they suck as much as they rock."

Meagen: She winked and reached over to pat his hand. She felt more like a mother right now than she had with Scott and she had no idea why. "Tad. You seem to be a man who is coming into himself and everything in his life. You taking this last step is so exciting as a reader. I've been cheering for you both, and from

the sidelines it’s hard not to give advice and tell you what to do. So tell me, as I smoothly change subjects," she laughed, "what do you think of Max? And what about this guy, Kai? Where does he come in? I'm dying to know more about them and while Scott explained Max a little bit, there has to be more."

Tad: He stiffened, his smile fading at the mention of Kai even more than Max. Which was saying a lot. Scratching his stubbly cheek, he cleared his throat. “Max. Hmm. At the moment, he’s a tough one for me to like. I mean, Scott swears he’s a good guy, and I guess he must be to be Scott’s best friend, but I dunno. It’s hard to respect someone who, in my opinion, doesn’t deserve it. He judged me hard when he doesn’t even know me. Doesn’t know my deal. Doesn’t know jack.” He shook his head and looked away, voice turning rough. “But whatever. He’s Scott’s boy so I gotta respect that. And I will. I just hope that whatever crawled up his ass…” he chuckled sardonically, “crawls back out again… soon.” His smile disappeared as quickly as it came. “As for Kai, I have no idea what his deal is. Scott wasn’t very forthcoming when I asked about him. Which, yeah, kinda makes me wary.” He shifted in his seat. “All I know is that they share common interests. Whatever the hell that means. And they’ve got plans. Stuff they’re gonna be doing together, I guess.” God, his stomach suddenly felt like shit. He shoved his coffee away and resumed fiddling with his napkin.

Meagen: She frowned, sensing new tension in Tad’s shoulders and neck. Maybe she should move to lighter ground. "You know what? Let's forget about Kai. Talk about some easy stuff for a while.” She smiled and gave him a wink. “As you may or may not have guessed, I’m a book fanatic. Love to read. Can’t get enough. How about you? Read much yourself? Have a favorite genre?”

Tad: He exhaled, more than grateful for the subject change. “I do like to,” he nodded. “And sci-fi /fantasy is definitely my favorite genre. The Halo series, actually, was the last bunch I read.” He smiled boyishly. “Awesome, by the way. The way it was written to coincide with the video games? Kick ass. Eric Nylund is a sci-fi god. Lately, though, between work and school, I haven’t had time to read. Only books I crack open these days are big ole freaking text books.”

Meagen: She made a face. “How awful.” Tad laughed, nodding his head. “Well, how about music. Lots of artists are mentioned in your series. Do you have a favorite genre in that department?”

Tad: He could feel his insides light. One of his favorite things, after all. “Aw, man. Music feeds my soul. Love the stuff. Couldn’t live without it. But picking a favorite is tough. I really love all kinds. I guess what I listen to the most is alternative rock. But I really do listen to the whole gamut. Blues, rap, techno dance. Classic rock, hip hop. Ed Sheeran. Chili Peppers. Maroon 5. Lady Ga Ga… As long as it’s got flavor and funk, and moves me in some way, I’m all for it. Turn that shit up.”

Meagen: She laughed, seeing a whole new light in his eyes. “Awesome. How about food. Please tell me you’re not a fast food junkie.”

Tad: “Nothing wrong with a burger done right,” he grinned. “But I’m actually more of a hot wings and subs kinda guy.” He smiled. “Cool how that was the first thing Scott ever made me.” His grin widened. “He does great things with those hands.”

Meagen: “Yes,” she laughed. “I’ve been getting that impression.” Wiggling her brows, she leaned in closer. “Speaking of which, another staple question I love to ask people is what their favorite date place is. So, with Scott in mind, what would yours be?”

Tad: His brows jacked high. Date place? With Scott? Oh, geez. Scratching his cheek, he shifted in his seat. “Uh… Gah. Dates. With another guy. Hmm.”

Meagen: Her smile faded. “You’re not comfortable with that prospect.”

Tad: He did some more seat shifting. “Ah… well… it’s not something I’ve really entertained much. I mean…” He glanced around again, then cleared his throat. “Going on a date. To me, that means like, holding hands… in public… and shit.”

Meagen: She shrugged, nodding. “Yup. Pretty much.”

Tad: He winced. “Riiight.” Rubbing the back of his neck, Tad decided to evade the crux of the matter. “Okay. Well, then. Let’s see.” Inhaling, he gave a shrug. “I guess my date place of choice would be… at my place. Lots of beer. Maybe a playoff game on the tube.”

Meagen: Lips twitching, she leveled him with a droll look. “Nice skirting there, Tad. Okay. Let me rephrase. If no one else could SEE you and Scott while out on a date, where would you want to go and hang out?”

Tad: He chuckled, face heating yet again. Cornered. She’d affectively cornered his ass. Though, truth be told, she DID present the question in a much more bearable light. “Fine,” he chuckled. “If no one was staring at us, I’d love to go to a pool hall with the guy. Sports Center playing on the big screen, steady flow of ice cold beer.” His lids dipped lower. “Scott sliding strong fingers up and down his stick, then bending his shit over the table. All that fucking muscle stretched over all that green…” He licked his lips absently. “Good times.”

Meagen: She blinked a couple times, then quickly took a drink. “Wow. Great answer. “ She tugged on her collar and chuckled. “ Makes me curious about something else. Something a bit more personal." He titled his head and looked at her. "But you don't have to answer if you don't want to." He leaned forward and nodded, as if acknowledging what she said and prompting her to continue. "Alright. Well, I was so excited when you two finally kissed. It was about time!" She smiled, watched Tad relax a little. "Was it what you expected? Did your knees buckle? Did you get light headed?" When he gave her a strange look, she shrugged and blushed. "That's what I've always wanted a kiss to do for me, so I'm projecting it onto you. But really, what was it like?"

Tad: He chuckled and looked down at his mug. “What was is like… Geez. How to put it into words.” He tilted his head, chewing absently on his smile. “It was amazing. So much better than I expected. And I expected pretty damn good.” His eyelids grew heavy as he shook his head. “The second his mouth touched mine? Game over. Not that I hadn’t already thrown in the towel … with what we’d just finished doing.” He tamped down a growl. “But God, his lips… They’re like freaking crack. Totally drugged me up. Left me jonesing for more.” He glanced up boyishly, realizing he’d probably elaborated a bit too much. Eh. Fuck it. Just saying it like it was. Sitting back, he grinned with a shrug. “Truth be told, I can’t wait to do it again. Do ALL of it again.” He laughed and looked up at the ceiling. “Yup. Totally addicted.”

Meagen: "Well, I think I've tortured you enough, but I do have one last question." He was still grinning when his eyes found hers. "Alright. It's a big one, so you ready?" He nodded and she tapped her fingers on the table. "Where do you see this going with Scott? What is your end game?" She watched and waited, sipping the last few drops of her now lukewarm drink. Would he bolt or remain relaxed and answer the question…

Tad: His lips pursed in thought. Again, he tilted his head. “My endgame with Scott. Hmm.” He gave a small optimistic shrug. “Well, hopefully us doing the road trip together. Scott and me getting tighter. Getting to know each other way down deep. With our lives and social circles merging.” He shrugged. “At the moment, my aspirations aren’t super high. As long as whatever Scott and I are doing, we’re doing it together. For the long haul. But there IS one thing I’d love to see happen sooner rather than later.” Meagen lifted an intrigued brow. Tad smiled boyishly. “I wanna be able to be around the guy, damn it, without always feeling so nervous. God, I’m always freaking blushing.” Meagen grinned as Tad softly sighed. “Although he does seem to really enjoy that shit.”

Meagen: She laughed and nodded. “He really does.” Noticing they were both finished with their drinks, she gathered up her purse. "Well, I think Scott will be happy to hear all of this. And I, for one, can't wait to see what happens between you two." He grinned and ducked his head then smiled when she put her hand out. "I really appreciate you taking the time to chat with me, and I more than appreciate how honest you were with me. I know it might not have been your first choice of things to do today, but I think this is going to draw the fans in so they see a little deeper into who you are.” She stood up and grabbed her phone as he tossed some bills on the table. "I really am looking forward to seeing what happens next with you two."

“You and me both,” Tad smiled , following her out.

Both stayed quiet as they walked to his Jeep, neither seeming to feel the need to fill the peaceful silence. Meagen was lost in how to get this written up and posted as soon as possible, and Tad was more than likely thinking about Scott.

Joey Shares with Leslie

Leslie:
I walk into the room, smiling as I do so. The chaos of the messy room, speaks for itself. A teenager lives here, and despite everything, this part of his life is perfectly normal. Stepping over a skateboard, I make my way to the chair at the desk, and make a noise to alert Joey that I am there. Instantly he takes out his ear buds and looks up from whatever book he was reading. With a young and charming smile, he greets me in a warm and silent way.

"Hey, Joey. Sorry to disturb you, I thought I would ask you a few questions. Is that cool?"

Waiting for him to sit up, I look around the room, finding myself almost laughing. Clothes outside the hamper and not quite in it, a sketch book open on the desk, an open can of Monster next to an empty bag of cheetos. Boys...

"So, you okay with any questions I have?" He nods and I continue.

"First, let me just say I am happy you allowed me to be here, and say how happy I am that YOU are here. Can you tell me, do you share your experience with others?"

Joey:
Yeah, kind of a lot now. ~smiles~ I mean, at the right places though. I don’t just run into McDonald’s blasting it out or anything like that, but I get asked to come to different schools and talk about it. Plus I talk to different groups at the community centers too. Oh, this is kinda cool too. Sometimes the people at the center or one of the schools will ask me if I could call someone who is too nervous to talk to an adult about it. Those are my favorite one’s to talk too.

Leslie:
"Before everything happened, did you have anything that helped you get through the day, like a special song, or crushing on someone that probably did not know?"

Joey:
Just music mainly and drawing. I sketch a lot of pictures, but music was the main thing for me. I don’t see that ever stopping. I love it too much. Crushing? Hahaahahahahaha Naw, I didn’t go there then, that was a big no no for me.

Leslie:
"So, you were truly in the closet?"

Joey:
100% in

Leslie:
"What about now?"

Joey:
100% out

Leslie:
"Do you have your eye on anyone? Or are you just crossing your fingers, keeping your eyes open and being hopeful?"

Joey:
Yes ~laughs & turns red~ There’s someone, kinda. I mean not someone that I’m seeing, but someone I wouldn’t mind going out with.

Leslie:
"Is he cute? Any chance of giving me a name?

Joey:
He’s more than cute, he’s downright hot. Very smart, and funny, but kind of shy too. He has amazing eyes and... I’m not sure if the feeling is mutual. ~whispers~ It’s Luc, but I’m not sure how to go about it considering everything that happened. I’m just playing it cool until I know for sure.

Leslie:
I know it is a personal question, and I hope with his age I am not embarrassing him too much. What I am hoping to do, is to break the ice, so that he will be more open with me and offer up more than I am asking of him. When he gets a shy smile, I cross my own fingers and wait for his reply.

"Can I ask you something, do you ever wonder, what if you had outed yourself sooner, how that might have changed a lot of things, even your own... decision? Or is that too personal? Crap, Joey, I am kinda at a loss what to ask you, other than if you like crunchy Cheetos or the Puffs better? I mean, how about you just start rambling, and I will jump in?"

Joey:
Well crunchy is the answer to that. It’s personal, but a personal story I share, so you’re not being nosy if that is what you mean? ~laughs~ I think probably that if I’d come out sooner, the bullying still would have happened. Maybe not as bad, since teachers would have known to watch for situations like that. It usually happens to anyone that is gay. There is someone out there who is ready to slam you behind it. It’s not fair, just a fact. Since the day I made the choice to off myself, I’ve looked at things a lot differently. Now I believe everything happens for a reason, even when it makes no sense, one day it might. So I think everything has just played out the way it was meant to be. Now I can be who I was meant to be, I have a purpose.

Leslie:
"In your story, you talked of your parents and having never seen them act very loving, has that changed?"

Joey:
Oh God yes, they’re so mushy it’s almost sickening. ~sticks finger down throat~ They are like love struck teenagers, it’s funny though…in a gross kind of way, but at least they’re not arguing anymore. I never thought I’d see that day.

Leslie:
"Are they still supportive of you?"

Joey:
Definitely so, mom is overly supportive though.

Leslie:
"What do you mean overly? Does she drag you into her women friends to share your story?"

Joey:
She tries to set me up. She points out every cute guy that walks by and gives me ten different reasons why I should let her go mention what a great guy I am. She’s determined to kill my social life. ~laughs~

Leslie:

I notice him shyly grin to himself and turn a little red. "Everything okay, Joey?"

Joey:
Oh yeah, was just thinking about that answer, when I said it kills my social life and realized it’s the first time I ever had a social life. I have friends now, not just one, but many. I hang out just like every other person my age does, but see that is something I never had before. It’s not because I didn’t want one, but I was never included. When people bully someone else, they tend to go straight for people like me. I think if more people would start making themselves more visible, the bullies would back off. Or if the people who witness the bullying would mention it to more adults, they could stop it. I do think that bullying should carry a heavy penalty at school. Suspending someone from school is not a punishment, it’s a vacation, party time for us. It might be punishment on the parent, but it’s definitely not on kids. Now if they started something like after school, every day for a week or something, that would be a punishment for us, because then you are cutting into their personal time.

Leslie:
"Well, is there anything you’d like to say to others who might be walking in your old shoes?"

Joey:
Yes, be who you were meant to be. If you’re being bullied you have to let someone know, even if only one person. You don’t want to have to go through what I did. I never thought anyone loved me or cared if I exsisted, and it was almost too late for me when I found out that they did. I was just unapproachable. They didn’t know how to talk to me about it is all, about being gay. They were just as scared and worried as I was, only they were scared of me, and I was scared of the bullies and them killing me. Just give them a shot, let someone inside your world, instead of closing it all up like I did. I promise there is someone out there who understands, I understand, call me. If I wasn’t given a choice that most don’t get, I’d have never known how much my parents and best friend truly did love me. I was always wrapped up worrying, that it left no room to notice someone scared too, of me.

Leslie:
By the time he ends his comment, I find myself wiping a tear from the corner of my eye and fighting back the rest that are threatening to fall. This kid is a treasure, and to know that he almost ended it all in a moment of utter grief hits me hard. Without a thought, I rise out of my chair and lean over to hug him, tight. In his ear, I just whisper the only words I can think of right now. "Thank you, Joey... thank you, for everything."

Coffee and More with Mitch Knox

Leslie:
As I sit down and reach for my cup of coffee, I find myself stopping as Mitch walks through the door. At once I am thankful that I had not been mid drink, because the shirt that Mitch was wearing makes me laugh loudly. "I'm so GAY, I cannot think straight!" is spread across his broad chest and when he notices what had made me laugh, he smiles and takes a seat across from me. Finally stopping my laughter, I smile back at him.

"Nice shirt! I like it, and it serves as a great ice breaker, so let me say...thanks for doing this, Mitch. I know you must be really busy, so I won't keep you long. I just have a few questions to ask you, and then you can get back to Cody, and whatever you were doing."

Mitch:
Looking across the coffee shop, he easily spots the only female drinking coffee in the middle of the day in Texas where the temperature reached about a million degrees today. He lifted a hand, weaving through the tables until he took a seat across from her. He was used to the laughter he got, otherwise he'd be checking for stains from lunch. Between the T-shirts he wore and the tattoos running up and down both arms, he usually drew quite a bit of attention.

"You know, Cody's home gettin' ready for Colt and Jace to stop by. They're in town this weekend. We're having grilled veggie burgers tonight. I'm real excited about all that. I always liked Jace until he and Cody hit it off so well. Now, I'm thinking the the Michaels-Montgomery duo need to be off the holiday card list." He lifted a hand calling the waitress over to order a glass of iced-tea.

Picture
Leslie:
"Veggie burgers? How is that even possible in Texas? This state is for meat eaters, not the shit they put beside the steak to make it look pretty." As his tea was delivered, I wondered if it was safe to speak about anything, and without my inner filter until I stared at his shirt for a moment. Then I knew, Mitch was not the type to hold back any more than I was.

"So, I am going to assume that nothing is really off the table to talk about. So, first will be some of the great news that Texas got recently. The law being passed for same sex marriage to be legal. I imagine that is amazing news with your new engagement? Until the law was passed, were you just thinking of getting married out of state? Also, while we are on the subject, how did you know that Cody was the one for you so quicky?

Mitch:
He took a long drink of his super sweet tea and grinned at her reference to Texas and marriage. He didn’t point out that he envisioned Texas Supreme Court follow in the same footsteps as Alabama. She seemed excited and didn’t want to burst that bubble. He skipped that question and went straight to the one about his Mister.

“Have you seen him? I mean, really seen him? You know he’s taller than me. A little thicker. Hot. I got myself a younger man. He’s a good guy. I think he’ll pick my nursing home well. He’s one of those solidly good guys. It’s why I’ll eat the veggie burger tonight and not complain too much.”

Leslie:
"Nursing home? You sound like you have one foot in the grave, Mitch. From what I can see you are far from old and though your superiors might think you are crazy from time to time, I seriously doubt you will be in a home from a feeble mind any time soon. However, I will agree, Cody is quite the catch. Shit, you both are. If you don't mind me saying that?"

When he laughs low and gives a little smirk, I laugh with him and raise a brow in challenge.

"So, with the new couple thing between the two of you, and Cody's position with the Texas State Trooper, what does that mean for you? Are you switching field offices? Also, are you planning on a home near Cody's family, or is it too soon to ask?

Mitch:
“No, not at all. I’ve already made the move to Austin. Cody and I are sharing his place in Austin. As for switching offices, that on the table now. We’re having a conflict them and I, but I’m determined to win. I don’t want a desk job.” He so didn’t want that desk job, he liked the freedom and wide open spaces of being a Deputy. The scowl that always followed that thought formed.

Leslie:
"Yeah, I cannot see you behind a desk. Though it's, God I cannot believe I am going to say this, but.. it's safer, right?" I almost cringe at my own words, but then a question forms in my mind that would help soften the edge of what I just said.

"With what happened to Cody, don't the pair of you worry that it will happen again, to either of you? With any law enforcement there is always that chance, I know, but with two of you in that position... is that something the two of you have had to deal with?"

Mitch:

“I’ve done this research. There’s 76,000 office workers on disability right now for accidents in the workplace. A stapler is just a way to fasten pages together until it goes wrong, then it becomes a lethal weapon designed to poke an eye out, or cause a serious blood disease when you poke your finger.”

He straightened a little, leaned forward, getting a little more serious. Cody’s accident had rocked his world and it wasn’t a laughing matter. “We’re more vigilant. This isn’t over, I’m sure of that. Cody’s hard headed, but I cant see him letting himself get in that position again. He has his weapon on him at all times now.”

Leslie:
"On that thought, if you had to choose another career at some point, what could you see yourself doing?"

Mitch:
“I’ve considered this question. I go back and forth about being a porn star or stripper. I got moves. Magic Mike’s got nothing on me.”

Leslie:
As soon as Mitch mentions Magic Mike, my thoughts stray to imagine him up on stage, just strutting his stuff and looking, oh shit, did he just say my name... like more than once?

"What? Sorry, I... um... well, you caught me. Damnit, why did you have to mention that? Please, do not mention this to Cody. Crap, what was I gonna ask you next?" I can tell he is trying to hold back a laugh, and then the pair of us just give up and let it loose. Some of the patrons of the coffee house look our way, but when he turns to someone and grumbles out 'What?' they quickly look away. "You are a real people person, aren't you?"

Mitch:
“No, not at all. You’re talking to a fictional character,” he said, teasing her. Clearly he was real. Hello!! No fictional character in their right mind would wear T-shirts like his.

Leslie:
"Okay, as long as my mind is in the gutter... how about... Do you and Cody put all those sets of handcuffs to use often?"

Mitch:
He barks out a laugh. “Cody’s better at tying me up. I get it that way about once a month. We’ve got these perfect steel beams… Yeah, he’s not so much into sex that way himself, he likes to be in control. As for me, he can control me that way anytime.”

“Stop blushing, next question.”

Leslie:
"So, tell me, Mr. Knox... what is an average day in your household? Oh, and feel free to not hold back those yummy parts!"

Mitch:
“I think you’re a little bit of a perv, but so am I so I’ll tell you. We’re still in the honeymoon stage. We do it like bunnies. I understand we have a few more months like that. So our home life is working and spending time together. He’s pretty hot and smells good – It’s not a hardship. On that note, he gets off soon. If we hurry, and you wrap this up, we can catch him on his mount. You won’t be disappointed.”

Leslie:
I stand up with him, grabbing my cup of coffee and follow him out the door. He was right, we did see Cody on his mount, but before I could comment, Mitch had left my side and was making his way towards his man. With a laugh, I waved my hand and shouted, "Thanks for the interview, Mitch. Have fun!" Slipping my sunglasses on, I smirk to myself. Well, I cannot exactly blame him, damn, Cody is HOT up on that horse! Both of them are lucky. Very lucky, indeed!

Leslie:

"Veggie burgers? How is that even possible in Texas? This state is for meat eaters, not the shit they put beside the steak to make it look pretty." As his tea was delivered, I wondered if it was safe to speak about anything, and without my inner filter until I stared at his shirt for a moment. An interview with Lisa Renee Jones

Picture
Recently, I had the opportunity to interview New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Lisa Renee Jones. Her latest release, All of Me was released February 2015, so you can imagine how incredibly busy she has been. So, right up front, I want to thank Lisa and her amazing assistant Emily for taking time out of both your busy schedules to talk with me.

Angela:
When did you decide that writing was your passion?

Lisa:
I was acting and did some independent films but had a career and kids that meant I really couldn't go to the next level. Writing became my creative outlet.

Angela:
I know that some things are hush hush, but what can you tell us about the Inside Out Series being turned into a television series?

Lisa:
I can tell you that we are in development, and there will be news VERY soon. Things are moving along nicely, and I'm just dying to spill some beans to my readers, but I can't just yet. The first episodes are written already and as soon as I get the green light I'll be shouting updates out for all to hear :) If reader want to be in the know about future producer talks and get some exciting news first they can sign up here - http://lisareneejones.com/inside-out-series-tv-show/

Picture
Angela:
Do you think you'll ever check in on Chris and Sara sometime in the future? I just really want to know if they end up allowing themselves the happiness and frustrations of a child or three. lol

Lisa:
I would LOVE to! I've said from the minute I finished writing ALL OF ME that I want to keep writing the series. It is over for now, but I love the characters too much to stay away forever. I'm sure I'll do an anniversary check-in or a special scene for some upcoming event or promotion.

Angela:
If you could have a happily ever after with one of your hero's which one would it be?

Lisa:
Well, I kind of am :) I only say that because I put a lot of my husband's characteristics into Chris Merit from the INSIDE OUT series. To me, they're very much alike. So in a way I have my very own Chris Merit at home!

Angela:
Have you written parts of yourself into any of your heroines? If so, which one(s)?

Lisa:
Definitely. Anytime you see a character of mine with a White Mocha in their hands that's a little piece of me. I also write some of my own quirks into characters here and there. I've never fully based anyone off of myself, but Sara comes the closest. The clumsy-ness, and her love of coffee, definitely me :)

Angela:
What series and/or book was the most fun to write?

Lisa:
That's like asking someone who their favorite child is! I guess if I HAVE to answer, I would say the INSIDE OUT series. Once those characters got in my head they never let go. They still haven't, and I've been finished writing the series for months now. It's really frightening how much they still speak to me. But that entire cast of characters was really a thrill to write.

Angela:
What advice do you give aspiring authors?

Lisa:
First off, if it's your true passion - do NOT give up on it. It's a hard to write books at first plus the added stress of the market and competition, but don't let that tear you down. Also, make author friends and take their advice. Join author groups and learn from each others fails and triumphs. And lastly, have fun with it! It's not always roses and sunshine to write, sometimes it's a real bear, but find your niche and write what you love. Of course it's important to know the market you're in and what your audience is buying, but it's also extremely important to put your own personal flair in your books to make them stand out among the masses.

Angela:
When you write do you have special music that plays depending upon the scene and do you picture a certain actor/actress in your mind for your main characters?

Lisa:
Absolutely, Lifehouse is strictly a band I listen to when I was writing my INSIDE OUT series. A song of their's came on while I was writing FORSAKEN (The Secret life of Amy Bensen #3) and it completely threw off my writing. I do have varied special songs for all of my characters. As for actors/actresses - I don't base my characters off of anyone, but I do have pinups for who they could look like. For instance Alexander Skarsgard is my pinup for Mark Compton (INSIDE OUT), and David Gandy (depending on the picture) definitely has the look of Liam (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen). The funny thing is my readers always send me their version of my characters and I've found myself saying "Oh wow! He/She could definitely work!" It can be a certain picture for a certain actor/actress that channels one of my characters really well, not just the actor/actress in general. But we'll know soon what Chris, Sara and Mark will look like when they're cast for the TV show!

Angela:
What can we expect to see from you in the coming year?

Lisa:
Books 1 and 2 of The Secret Life of Amy Bensen will be put to print finally, and Book 3, FORSAKEN will be out on Aug, 18th, then UNBROKEN will be out the following month onSept. 7th. After that, I'm hoping to release the first book in Ella's (from the INSIDE OUT series) series before the end of they year. And of course, there will be some very exciting TV news coming VERY soon about the upcoming INSIDE OUT show!

Surprised, but very pleased when this giant of a man filled the room for this interview, I worried that the chairs at the table would hold him. I quickly fixed this potential problem but leading him over to the easy chairs by the fireplace.

"Hello, please have a seat Granda, Dethan."

"Just Dethan, dear lady."

*I began by looking over the list of questions, knowing I was being scrutinized by the large, handsome, sexy and very married warrior and leader of Hexis when he took the list from me.*

"Dethan, the usual procedure would be for me to ask you the questions one by one."

"This will be much faster, do you not agree?"

*What was I going to say? He towers over me by a foot or more. It's hard enough to keep my eyes from the impressive package staring me in the face.* "Of course. Whatever makes you most comfortable."

"Good. Be ready. I will read your questions and give you the answers. I trust you are prepared?"
*I nod, pen at the ready as he takes a deep breath and quickly runs through my list of questions*

Picture
1,  What is the name of your book? CURSED BY FIRE
2. What is your creator’s name (i.e. author’s name) Jacquelyn Frank
3.  Where do you live? Texas
4.  What is your idea of a perfect day? A day when I’m not being burned by the fires of hell.
5.  What would you do if you come face-to-face with your worst enemy. What is your first reaction? Draw my sword, run him through.
6.  What is your greatest fear? That I’ll be doomed to burn forever.
7.   What is the quality you most like in a person? The ability to fight for themselves.
8.   How opinionated are you? Does you like to share those opinions with others or keep them to yourself? I have very strong opinions. I’m not afraid to share them with others.
9.   What is your occupation? Warrior.
110   What is your favorite season? Winter.
11.   Do you have any siblings? What sort of relationship do you have with them? I have three brothers. We were once very close, but I have not seen them in a long time. My brothers mean the world to me. Just like me, they’re cursed in their own ways to suffer at the hands of the gods.
12.   If we opened your wallet, purse, or briefcase. What would we find? Gold.
13.   If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today? Free my brothers from their curses.

*He hands me back the list, gives me a nod and stands. My mouth drops open and I have so many more questions. The first of which is where in Texas does he live? My next thought is maybe I should have talked to Selinda.*

A Chat with Amy Lane

First and foremost let me say Thank You to Ann Lister for joining me today. It isnot often that readers and fans get to interact with some of their favoriteauthors, and as reviewer for Evermore Books it is a privilege to be able to dothat.  I can only hope that the questions I ask, will give our fans and readers anextra peek into her life that is not only informative but exciting, so enjoy!
Leslie:  Ann, one of the questions I like to ask to those who write M/M is how didyou choose to write within this genre?  What made you decide to take this courseother than traditional or M/F romance, paranormal, or erotica?
Ann: Actually, when I started getting paid for my writing, it was in the M/M genreand that was back in the mid 1990's.  I used to write and sell short, erotic M/Mstories for various men's magazines.  My daughter's were young then, so I didn'thave a lot of free time, but when I did have some spare time, I would sit down andwrite.  The money back then for these short stories was really good, but now all ofthat can be read online for free.  I don't know why I started my writing careerwriting M/M.  It sort of just found me.  When people would ask me why I was writingin that genre I would say, why not?  I've always thought if it was a great lovestory, it didn't matter what the gender was for the characters falling in love.  Years later, I started writing full length novels in the M/F genre.  The market forfull length M/M novels back then wasn't what is now, so it was difficult to imaginewriting an M/M story I could market properly and sell books.  The first five titlesI published are in the M/F genre, but then the idea for The Rock Gods hit me in thehead and I've never looked back.  Since I wrote Fall For Me, Book 1 in The RockGods series, I have only written M/M or M/M/F.
Leslie:  I know you have your books in a continuing series, with characterreappearing in the new releases? Do you find that gives you an edge over other M/Mauthors with just single book publication?
Ann: I'm not sure it gives me an 'edge'.  To me, it is just one long story cut upinto segments.  It's not as easy as you might think to have reappearing characters. Each book has to carry all these characters forward, showing their growth, theirflaws, and quirks.  And, you have to stay true to these elements in each book inorder for the reader to feel the continuity of the story and not get bored.
Leslie:  How important is it to you when you write to know how your book endsbefore you write it, or do you just let the story come to you as you go along? Ifyour book is part of a series, does all of that apply to the series or just book bybook?
Ann: Sometimes the end of the story is very clear to me before I sit down to typethe first word.  Other times, I let the characters tell me how it ends, which iswhat is happening with what I'm writing now.  Fall For Me had an extremely visualending for me right from the start, so when I sat down to write the story, I beganby writing the ending.  As it turned out, the ending I wrote first didn't end upbeing the final scene in the book.  Usually, as I peel back the layers to eachcharacter, I am pointed in the direction they want me to end their story.
Leslie:  Who are your main inspirations when it comes to sparking your creativity?I guess I am asking are they fellow authors, fans, street teams, friends, family?
Ann:  My inspiration can come from some very unlikely sources.  Life itself is agreat inspiration to a love story.  I am a huge fan of watching what I call 'thedance' between two potential partners.  I love to watch the interactions of peopleand from that I can create stories in my head.  I've had stories inspired bysomething as simple as a photograph.  Another huge source for me is music andlistening to the actual lyrics to the song, that also inspires me.  Other times itis listening to my friends talk about their lives.  Last year I had a gay, pornstar tell me this amazing story from his actual life.  There were certain elementsto his story that fit the character I was writing at the time to perfection(Wheland).  I asked this porn star if he would mind if I used parts of the scene hehad described to me and explained why.  He was more than happy to see his 'scene'

come to life in my book.  Reading a really good M/M story will inspire me to workharder at pouring deeper emotions into my stories for the readers to feel.
Leslie:  Think back to that first book!  What made you decide to write it, and takethe leap to publish it?  Also, did you always want to be a writer?
Ann: The very first full length novel I published was, Sheet Music: A Rock 'n' RollLove Story.  That story came to me as a naughty dream I had about a famous (stillliving) rock star.  The dream was extremely vivid to me and I told my friends aboutthis dream over and over.  They finally said I should write it down in book form. Ithought they were crazy, but I did write the story, and then it sat in a boxcollecting dust for nearly a decade because I wasn't convinced anyone other than myfamily and friends would be interested in reading it.  The story was fairly eroticand I figured I'd have a tough time selling it to any of the publishing housesbecause of the sexual content.  This was years before the Fifty Shades phenomenonhit mainstream America.  But, right around this time there was something new called'self-publishing' or print on demand that could offer someone like me theopportunity to get a story published.  I decided to give it a try, even though itwas not an accepted practice back then and most authors didn't believe in thevalidity of it, either.  I'm happy to say, that mind-set has changed dramaticallyover the years.  What I was doing then was cutting edge and now it is common place.
Did I always want to be an author?  I always wanted to be an artist and I haveachieved that in many different mediums.  But, out of all the different formats Itried, writing has been the one constant passion that has followed me through theyears.  There is just something about telling a story that excites me!
Leslie:  Final question(s) so, I guess I will make this one count!  Which book areyou most proud of so far? Is there anything exciting planned for the future?
Ann: Wow!  That is a difficult question to answer and ranks right up there withasking a parent who their favorite child is. LOL.  I really do love all my books, but I am probably most emotionally connected to Fall For Me because that is thestory that started this whole 'Rock Gods' odyssey.  It was Dagger and Ryan whostarted me on this journey to tell the stories of the men in Black Ice and IvoryTower and I'll always be grateful to them for offering me their story to tell.
The projects I have planned for the future are more stories in The Rock Godsseries.  I am currently writing Book 5, Meant For Me.  This is Tony and Jared'sfriends-to-lovers story.  After that, I am working on Dagger's band members andDante and Ashton are up first.  Beyond that, I'm not sure.  I have several ideasthat I am working on in my head and I'm always taking notes, so who knows!
***Bonus***  If you can, describe to us a typical writing day!
Ann: A typical day for me starts with some marketing, paperwork, answering emails, stuff like that.  I make a serious effort to try and have that done by lunch. After that it is all about the writing and that can last well into the night.  Ifthe characters are really chatty in my head, I will concentrate solely on thewriting during the day and not do anything else.  The other really BIG part of myday comes very late at night.  When the lights go out, the house falls silent, andwhen most 'normal' people are sleeping, that is when I create.  My brain is mostrelaxed at that time of the day and I can let the story ideas flow freely.  Itdoesn't take long before the characters start talking to me.  Sometimes they havelong conversations with each other, sometimes they show me visuals of where thescene takes place.  This part of the day is extremely important to me and it canlast for hours.  When I am in full-on writing mode, I don't get a lot of sleepbecause the characters rarely shut up long enough for that to happen.  I may walkaround like a zombie, but I don't mind all that much.  My characters are prettycool to hang around.

Leslie: Patricia, one of the questions I like to ask to those who write M/M is how did you choose to write within this genre? What made you decide to take this course other than traditional or M/F romance, paranormal, or erotica?

Patrica: I had written a MF book and had no success finding a publisher for it so I decided to do something entirely new. I was reading MM exclusively by that point so I thought I would try my hand at it. I did. 34 books later, I’d never change my genre. This is where I'm comfortable and I think my boys like me here as well.

Leslie: I know you are also enjoy the BDSM side of M/M. Do you find that gives you an edge over other M/M authors?

Patricia: About a two years ago, I released my third book in the Silvers series, Silver Ties, it was my first novel length MM BDSM book and it was a HUGE success. Because of it, a friend and fellow author GA Hauser, suggested I continue writing BDSM so I spun a serial out of that book called the Master Boys. It was a mega hit for me and after those 7 books, I wrote a follow up series Invitation Only using many of the same characters. As far as whether it gives me an edge, I think I pretty well branded myself as a MM BDSM author. I worked very hard to do that and now I'm a go-to author for a lot of folks who like BDSM with their gay men. I suppose that is a success story, so an edge? Yes.

Leslie: How important is it to you when you write to know how your book ends before you write it, or do you just let the story come to you as you go along? If your book is part of a series, does all of that apply to the series or just book by book?

Patricia: I have to know where my book will end. I always have an outline, even for my novellas. In the case of my series books, they are structured with a central theme, usually where a character or two is introduced in book one as a minor player and then their story is told in book two and so on. The series keep with a theme (ie. Marine Bodyguards, Silvers, Armadillo etc.) but the serials (Master's Boys, Invitation Only) don't get their whole story told until the final book. In other words, we meet characters in book one who may not get their happy ending until book six. Their story, along with the story of many other characters, is told as the serial is told¦ like a comic book where Superman has a new adventure every week but he doesn't fall in love with Lois until the end of the movie. Make sense?

Leslie: Who are your main inspirations when it comes to sparking your creativity? I guess I am asking are they fellow authors, fans, street teams, friends, family?

Patricia: I'd have to say, they are men in uniform. Whether that means a suit for a bodyguard, a uniform for a cop or a Marine, a leather jockstrap and harness for a Dom, or a G-string for a stripper, or a Stetson for a cowboy. I love uniforms and I can always create a story when I see one I like.

Leslie: Think back to that first book! What made you decide to write it, and take the leap to publish it? Also, did you always want to be a writer?

Patricia: I used to work in the banking industry. It was my career for two decades so when it died in 2007 and I found myself with no income and time on my hands, I began reading my romance paperbacks, I bought a Kindle, and I discovered MM. I wrote Leather Nights as a semi-autobiographical MM romance because I had lived through the mortgage meltdown the way my MC Jake, did. He had a family to support and no means to do it. He had to reinvent himself as did I, and he found love along the way. I thought it was pretty good, so I found a publisher and my new career was born. I've been writing in one form or another since I was 12 so, yeah, I'd say, I always wanted to be a writer.

Leslie: Final question(s)¦ so, I guess I will make this one count! Which book are you most proud of so far? Is there anything exciting planned for the future?

Patricia: I'd have to say the book I just finished, The Thief is one of my prouder books. This book has a lot of comedy in it because one of my MC's is a smartass and I really made myself laugh writing it. I hope it makes my readers appreciate my style. Besides that, Silver Ties, which launched me as a BDSM author makes me proud and it is such a thriller that it still makes me cringe. I am in the process of turning all of my books into Audible books from Amazon so soon folks will be able to buy them as audio books. Of course, the first one is Silver Ties and so far, I've only heard the prologue which is a gory crime scene. Let me tell you, it is scary as hell when you hear it. Haha.

  ***Bonus***
Leslie: If you can, describe to us a typical writing day!

Patricia: I try to begin writing by 9am and usually go until about 3pm until I have to get my youngest from school. Before and after that, I do promo and have fun with friends on FB. My writing day is broken up by watching shows that inspire me after every 1,000 words. I stop after 3,000 words unless I am completely inspired. I've had days where I wrote 11,000 words but those are rare indeed. Some days I can barely eek out 2500 but I try every day (7 days a week) In the case of The Thief, I've been watching episodes of White Collar so you'll see a lot of Matt Bomer (Neal Caffrey) in that book. Who doesn't love a handsome, sexy, gay thief?

An Interview with the Amazing Shayla Black

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Shayla briefly before she closed the door to her writing cave to give us more of her outstanding work. Right off the bat I'd like to send a big thank you to Shayla and her wonderful assistant Rachel for making sure our questions were answered. and arranging the Ebook Giveaways.

Angela:
When did you decide that writing was your passion?

Shayla:
My writing career started in college. I was a voracious reader of all things romance and simply could not get enough of authors like Sandra Brown and Virginia Henley. I enjoyed the art of storytelling so much I thought I would give it a try. My husband, boyfriend at the time, had an electric typewriter I quickly procured and next thing you know I was on my way.

Angela:
Who is your favorite character overall that you've written?

Shayla:
I would say my favorite character to write was Shock from the Doomsday Brethren series. He is snarky, thick skinned, will say anything and you never know what he’s thinking.

Angela:
Do you think you would pursue one or more of your series becoming a television program whether it be a cable network or a mini series?

Shayla:
I would definitely consider television or movie options. However, I would want to ensure any adaptation remains true to the original stories and characters.

Angela:
Will you be writing another Doomsday Brethren book?

Shayla:
I hope to release another one someday. Besides my schedule being VERY full, I was unable to obtain the rights back to the first four books and Mated novella from the publisher, which nixed my plans to reissue them (with all the sex and other deleted scenes they’d removed) so I could continue the series. If that changes, then I’ll do everything to work one into my calendar because I miss these characters, too. Rest assured, I’ve heard from MANY of you who want to know what’s going to happen with Bram and his mysterious Emma. And of course, lots of people ask for an update on the big guy, Shock. I’m hoping this situation resolves itself soon. I’ll keep everyone advised if there’s any progress.

Angela:
Have you written parts of yourself into any of your heroines? If so, which one(s)?

Shayla:
I can identify traits of myself in three different heroines:

Alyssa (Delicious) - because of her perseverance
Kata (Surrender to Me) - she’s a curvy girl who speaks her mind
Callie (Theirs to Cherish) - her heart is a lot like mine

Angela:
What advice do you give aspiring authors?

Shayla:
Advice is really tough for me. What has worked for me may not necessarily translate to someone else. However, I have three mantras I feel EVERY writer should consider.

LEARN…
I started my career and continue to gather as much information as possible. I always suggest new authors take advantage of online classes, speakers who are experts in their field and to really focus on areas of weakness in their craft.

PERSERVERE…
Criticism and rejection are not a bad words. If things come too quickly its truly hard to appreciate any success.

WRITE…
Don't just talk about it, do it! Figure out when you can grab a niche of time each day--whatever works best for you. When I worked a corporate job, for instance, I often wrote on my lunch hour. Once you find that schedule you can manage, get those words on the page.

Angela:
When you write do you have special music that plays depending upon the scene and do you picture a certain actor/actress in your mind for your main characters?

Shayla:
I actually have a SPOTIFY music playlist that gets a heavy rotation in my home office http://bit.ly/1FjW6pa.

Angela:
What can we expect to see from you in the coming year?

Shayla:

Small Talk with Piper Vaughn

Leslie:
First and foremost let me say ‘Thank You’ to Piper Vaughn for joining me today. It is not often that readers and fans get to interact with some of their favorite authors, and as reviewer for Evermore Books it is a privilege to be able to do that. I can only hope that the questions I ask, will give our fans and readers an extra peek into her life that is not only informative but exciting… so enjoy!

Piper:
Hi, Leslie! Thanks for having me today. 😊

Leslie:
Piper, one of the questions I like to ask to those who write M/M is how did you choose to write within this genre? What made you decide to take this course other than “traditional” or M/F romance, paranormal, or erotica?

Piper:
Is it strange if I say it kind of chose me? I’ve been writing m/m since my fanfic days, so for around 13-14 years now. Back when I first started sharing my writing online, I mostly wrote het couples. Eventually, as things sometimes happen in fandom, I fell in love with a couple of gay “ships.” My focus switched to those couples, and though I do still read m/f, my primary reading and writing is gay romance. Up to now at least. If the right story idea strikes, I’d write het again without any hesitation.

Leslie:
How important is it to you when you write to know how your book ends before you write it, or do you just let the story come to you as you go along? If your book is part of a series, does all of that apply to the series or just book by book?

Piper:
I’m very much a plotter. Usually, I have the story plotted down to the chapter summaries, so yeah, I know how it’ll end in advance. That being said, I’ll stray from the outline if the story starts taking a new direction. It’s kind of like taking a detour after you already printed out the directions. My aim is to get to the same place, but maybe now we’re going down this street here for a few miles. But there have been times I’ve winged it before. This applies mostly to my short stories. I might have sat down with just a vague idea and started typing. That’s really rare for me. Typically, even for my short stories, I like to have some kind of plan, even if it’s just a list of bullet points for major events on my white board.

In regards to series, some of them I have planned on in advance, and some only came about because a secondary character in the first book demanded their own story (which happens fairly often).

Leslie:
Who are your main inspirations when it comes to sparking your creativity? I guess I am asking are they fellow authors, fans, street teams, friends, family?

Piper:
Well…I’d say most of my inspiration just comes from day to day life experiences, music, movies, even commercials or some interaction I might have seen while out shopping. My fellow authors and readers certainly do help to motivate me, and my friends Jayden Brooks and Lexi Ander have been extremely helpful over the last couple of years in helping me hash out my plots and such during brainstorming sessions. And of course, sometimes my betas have great suggestions that inspire me to change or rethink something I’d already written or had planned for a story.

Leslie:
Think back to that first book! What made you decide to write it, and take the leap to publish it? Also, did you always want to be a writer?

Piper:
As I said above, I started in fanfic. I think the year was around 2001 when I started posting stories online, but even before then, as a kid, I’d write stories for myself and my friends. First in my notebooks and then through email chains on my computer. I always wanted to write in some form.

For my first officially published book in m/m, which was “Moonlight Becomes You,” co-written with M.J. O’Shea, that idea came from an episode of South Park, funnily enough. I was already writing with the goal to eventually submit to a publisher. At the time, I was in a crit group with M.J. O’Shea and we’d discussed the possibility of writing a story together. When I had the idea for MBY, I pitched it to M.J. and she liked it enough to agree to write it with me. We got it done in a month and submitted it after beta rounds and revisions. Since, then, there’ve been two more books in that series and I’ve published numerous other novels, novellas, and short stories.

Leslie:
Final question(s)… so, I guess I will make this one count! Which book are you most proud of so far? Is there anything exciting planned for the future?

Piper:
I’d have to say probably “One Small Thing” (with M.J. O’Shea). It’s one of my most popular books, along with “Wanting,” and I really loved the characters we created in that book and the little family they built. It was a lot of fun to write and up to that point, the longest original novel I’d written.

I do have some exciting things planned for the future, yes! Those who follow me on social media, particularly Facebook, know that I have a bit of a hedgehog obsession. Last month I finished my first shifter book, co-written with Kenzie Cade, about a hedgie shifter named Avery and his werewolf mate, Dylan. It was a lot of fun and not the fluff most people might be expecting with a hedgehog shifter involved. If our publisher accepts it, that should be out sometime in July. It’s called “Prickly Business.” Right now I’m working on a solo project before Kenzie and I start the sequel. This one is my first ever love triangle, and it’s part of the Hard Hats series for anyone who’s read the first two. Lots of other stuff on my schedule too. Some revamped fairytales, more contemporary, and more shifters. 😊

***Bonus*** If you can, describe to us a typical writing day!

Piper:
Typically, after dropping my son off at kindergarten and coming home to eat, I settle down at my computer with a cup of coffee or tea, put on the playlist I made for whatever book I’m working on, and get to writing until I have to go get my son. Sometimes I’ll also work on my manuscript in the evening after my husband gets home. On a good day, I can average about 5-6K words. On a great day, I’ve done between 9-10K.

Thanks again for inviting me to participate!

Snacks with Jake Thompson

Angela Cramer
Pulling pizza rolls out of the oven, she puts them on a platter for Jake wondering if Jake was going to bring Derek with him and if there'd be enough to eat if he does. "Wonder what he likes to drink. Gotta be Mountain Dew. Gotta be." Laughing, the doorbell rings and she swings open the door as she looks up and up at Jake standing there smiling. "Hi, Jake. Please, come on in. Make yourself at home." As he does, she wonders if she should remind him to duck the ceiling blades. Oops too late. She smiles, sitting across from him, offering the snack and soda. "Would you care for something else to drink?" She asks nervously, grinning from ear to ear. "I'm so excited to have you here today Jake. Your story is heartwarming, romantic and well I'm not going to spoil everything for the readers." Patting his leg, she laughs warmly. "You're just the right age where your whole life is waiting for you. What is one thing you've always wanted to do?"

Jake Tompson Well, I suppose I knew that school was always a stepping stone, to exactly what I'm still not certain, but I always wanted to find me. If that makes any sense Angela (?). I always was one of the cool kids, but I dont think I really knew what that meant until I found Derek. So no, I'm really me. Geez, do I sound stuck up or soemthing? Cause I'm really not. At least I don't think so!

Angela Cramer "Oh no. I don't think you sound stuck up. Confident actually and there is nothing wrong with confidence. A cool kid, huh? Does this mean that you and Derek are now the cool couple? I mean it is about time to start thinking of your senior prom. Will you and Derek be going?"

Jake Tompson The prom? Holy cow. Thats the last thing I've been thinking about! *blushes looking off to the side* I know I will ask him though! Unless he asks me first, of course! Not sure about the rules on that one! But I don't consider us the cool kids. As a 'cool' kid, I had more insecurities than now! Although after word got out about my father sending me to the hospital, I seem to be having more honest conversations with people. And for what its worth, *leans forward* I still have a couple of confidence issues to deal with. I mean, dont we all in one way or another?

Angela Cramer "Jake, I think you've hit the nail on the head with that one. Adult I may be, but there are still issues I face on a daily basis." She touches his leg adding her strength to him. "I'm so sorry that you had to deal with a father who was too selfish to love you for who you are not who he wanted you to be. However, without him would you have met Derek? Come to love him? Oh never mind me. I digress. I want to know about you and Derek. How are things going? It seems that the kids in your school seem so accepting of the two of you as a couple. What advice would you give to other couples, male or female who realize that they are gay and had not come to terms with it before?"

Jake Tompson Well, we seem to be accepted but I still catch that odd vibe every now and then. But hey, I have come to realize that while my issue may be who I take to bed, I see issues that we all face. And while the last thing I will do is give my father credit for anything, I suppose being emotionally damaged those days did leave me looking for some level of security. And I found it in Derek's the smell and fee of Derek's neck. And would you believe me that it was NOT a sexual feeling? It was more of a comfort level. *leaning forward* There have been times that Derek and I have been together, and nothing, I mean nothing sexual happens. I mean, I'm supposed to be at my sexual peak right now, and nothing happens. *looking off in the distance with a feint grin* And its wonderful! *wide knowing smile taking big gulp of Mountain Dew* Thanks for the drink, by the way!

Angela Cramer "You're welcome for the drink, and I find you an amazing person. Would you have a talk with my teenager?" Laughing she picks up her own Dew for a sip. "Really, though. I think it's great that you and Derek have found each other at such a young age. The best part is that you two are friends as well as being lovers. As such, what is one thing about you that Derek doesn't know?"

Jake Tompson *pauses* Well, derek thinks that I'm the confident one. The fancy dresser, the outgoing one. The brave one. The more agressive one *blushes off to the side again*. And I know that he admires me a lot. But the truth is, *leans in close again*, most days I'm actually the terrified one, and I look at him and am amazed at his bravery. To dress and say and act and do whatever the fuck he wants, without caring about what anyone else says or thinks about him. That is so brave, so much braver than I am! I coasted and was popular because I was captain of the basketball team and was pretty good looking, so I had followers. I was never standing out there alone like Derek was, before us of course. 'beams* Does that even answer your question? *frowns*

Angela Cramer "It does, more than you know." Taking a few pizza rolls she nibbles on one thoughtfully. "So a trip for two in Europe, Quite the present. What, besides being alone with Derek are you most looking forward to on this trip?"

Jake Tompson Oh jeez. Its like, Europe! The art, the history, the architecture! Everything we've read about since whenever! To walk along the Seine River in Paris and look up at Notre Dame cathedral! The Louvre Museum and the works of DaVinci and Michaelangelo! To walk along the Thames in London and hear Big Ben chime! And Rome, and to see the roman ruins during sunset! OMG! And then of course there will be Derek! *grins and sneaks a hand into his lap readjusting himself at the thought*.

Angela Cramer She nods knowingly breaking out into a grin as she watches Jake's face light up. "Now we get to boil down to the hot sex." Her grin continues when he blushes. It was obvious, to her, Jake had needed to adjust himself moments ago. "From what I read you and Derek are steamy." She leans forward to pick up her drink. "Who usually tops?" Noticing how red he is getting she tosses her head back and chuckles.

Jake Tompson Whoa! Talk about a personal question! *blushing*. You really want to know that? Well, to be honest, I think it sort of depends on the moment and the need. Ya know? I mean while there are times I'm in the lead and really need to, um, uh, screw, then I mean, I suppose that I am on top. But then, I can see that Derek needs to be in charge. But most times, i think the moment dictates. Hey - no pun intended. Taking a pizza roll and swallowing it with one bite.

Angela Cramer Grinning, she nods. "I do understand. After reading your story there is just one thing I really want to know," she asks quickly seeing him eye is phone looking for a text from Derek she assumes. "Will there be more? Will we find out what happens between the two of you during your European tour? Will you go to the same college? Damn but I want you to keep us informed, Jake. I want to be invited to your wedding one day." She pushes the pizza rolls closer to him.

Jake Tompson Wedding? Whoa. Hang on a second there. One day at a time. I'm not quite certain how to respond to your quesiton though. I think Derek and I will have a pretty good time in Europe, playing the typical romantic amercian tourist. Doing all the touristy stuff, but we'll have fun. But as to college, we are in fact planning to attned the same school. Its about three hours from home, but we'll stay on campus, i suppose sharing a dorm room is Derek really insists! *laughs at the joke* if Derek insists

Angela Cramer "I didn't mean to freak you out with the question," she smiles. "I am glad that you two are pursuing college though. Before I forget, thank you for answering all my questions today. Just one more if I could." Smiling she puts the leftovers in a ziploc for him to take home. "If you kept a photo album of memories from your lifetime and could only keep one photo, what would it depict?"

Jake Tompson I'm not freaked out. My mother already asked me that question. *laughs to self* I'm cool. I enjoyed our chat. But one photo, huh?

Angela Cramer "Yep, just one." Grins.

Jake Tompson Well, it just so happens.... *leans forward to pull out wallet from back pocket and thumbs through compartments and pulls out a picture, looking at it befroe handing it over. Its the picture of the back of a male head *he grins at foto*

Angela Cramer Brows furrow as she looks at the pic not wanting to look like a dumbass, she swallows her pride and asks, "what am I looking at?"

Jake Tompson Its Derek of course. He was sitting in front of me in class one day. Totally absorbed in what he was doing. I saw that neck of his. That little patch of skin, that inch of warmth where I first disocvered myself. * blushes, a single tear appears in the corner of my eye*. Thats my one foto!

Angela Cramer Her eyes water as she hands back the photo, rising along with Jake as he made his excuses. She smiled, kissed his cheek twice, once for Jake, the other for Derek. She also made sure Jake had the leftovers to microwave later when they needed a little extra energy. Closing the door, she quickly grabbed a tissue to wipe the tears from her eyes cursing herself for asking that one final question.

Interview with Author Amy Lane

First and foremost let me say ‘Thank You’ to Amy Lane for joining me today. It is not often that readers and fans get to interact with some of their favorite authors, and as reviewer for Evermore Books it is a privilege to be able to do that.  I can only hope that the questions I ask, will give our fans and readers an extra peek into her life that is not only informative but exciting… so enjoy!

Leslie:  Amy, one of the questions I like to ask to those who write M/M is how did you choose to write within this genre?  What made you decide to take this course other than “traditional” or M/F romance, paranormal, or erotica?

Actually, I started writing urban fantasy—my first few self-published books (which will soon be re-released via DSP Productions) were M/M/F ménage, with the initial relationship between a vampire, a sorceress, and an elf.  And as for how it happened?  Well, lots of things were in the air at the time—the first threat against gay marriage in California, that first infatuation with the omnisexuality of vampires, and a dawning awareness on my part that human relationships were not as simple as a pink bow and a blue bow and that’s the end of the story.  Suddenly, in what seemed to be a burgeoning relationship between a male vampire and a sorceress, there appeared a very real, very poignant open relationship between the vampire and a male elf—one that had lasted nearly 150 years.

Exploring that relationship—and other same sex relationships as I continued to write The Little Goddess series, and then The Bitter Moon saga had me very interested to see if I could write a strictly contemporary romance between two men.  When a random prompt came up on Twitter from Lynn West, chief editor of Dreamspinner Press, I answered for the sheer hell of it.  Although I’m about to write the fifth book of the Little Goddess series, I have to confess, I will never stop writing M/M completely. I really love it.

Leslie:  How important is it to you when you write to know how your book ends before you write it, or do you just let the story come to you as you go along?

I sit down with characters, a basic conflict, a beginning, middle, and end—all subject to change.  If what is organic to the character means any scene I’d pre-planned won’t work? Well that changes.  But that doesn’t change that I usually know the basics before I ever break paper.

Leslie:  Who are your main inspirations when it comes to sparking your creativity?  I guess I am asking are they fellow authors, fans, street teams, friends or family?

Well, actually my favorite inspirations were the Romantic poets.  They emphasized that we leave our hearts and minds open for any and all impressions, and that our emotions are often more reliable than our reason.  As a general philosophy, this works fairly well—it means I can be inspired by anything that moves me—including all of the above ;-)

Leslie:  Think back to that first book!  What made you decide to write it, and take the leap to publish it?  Also, did you always want to be a writer?

LOL—this one is easy.

Yes, I always wanted to be a writer. I wanted to be a writer after I graduated from school, but my parents offered to pay for a post-graduate program.  I chose teaching, they bailed, and I was stuck teaching for twenty years—but honestly, it was wonderful life experience, and I regret very little of my time as a teacher.

To that end, when all of my teaching friends went to school for their MA’s, I figured I should probably do that too—it was the only way to get a raise.  Except they were getting their MA’s in administration, and the idea of sitting through those classes made me simultaneously break out in hives and want to throw up.  I went to get my masters degree in creative writing instead.  In the fall of 2001, I was supposed to choose project.  I dropped out of the program because, well, I still had small children, and the world felt very frightening in the fall of 2001.  But the project I would have chosen was going to be a full-length novel.  That was the year I wrote a 25 page short story called Vulnerable.  Even though I was no longer in the program after that, I felt the urge to continue on with that story, and that was my vampire, elf, sorceress ménage.

Leslie:  Final question(s)… so, I guess I will make this one count!  Which book are you most proud of so far? Is there anything exciting planned for the future?

Right now?  I’m most proud of a book that’s going to be released in May.  It’s called Immortal, and it’s complex and painful and the ending gutted me.  I was also incredibly proud of both Bells and Beneath the Stain.

I also have an installment in Riptide’s Blue Water Bay series that I sort of love, called The Deep of the Sound, as well as the fourth book in the Johnnies series, called Black John.  So, yeah- always something working!

I’m also starting, probably near the end of this month, Quickening.  This book is the long awaited sequel of  The Little Goddess series, and I’m so excited about getting to write ménage and urban fantasy again.

***Bonus***  If you can, describe to us a typical writing day!

Okay—wake up, check e-mail.

Get kids to school—we’re usually late.

Get home and work on administrative stuff until 10 or so.

If it’s a workout day, go to aqua aerobics.

If it’s not, take a shower and go walking around the block with the dogs.

Get home, work until I fall asleep.

Wake up, work until I get the kids.

Get home, work until soccer/dance/social obligation.

Get home, feed troops.  (Often this is Chipotle or Noodle House, so don’t feel too bad for me.)

Finish feeding, sit down for one-two hours of mandatory family time.

Everybody goes to bed, sit down to work.

Work until 12-1 a.m., go to bed.

Wake up, do it again.

Leslie:  Thank you again, Amy for not only that small look into your life, but to some of the questions that I had been wanting to ask.  Good luck with this release and all of your future endeavors and we look forward to seeing you once again here with us at Evermore Books.

Interview with Cole Astaroth from Heaven on Fire

Angela: Today we have with us Cole Astaroth, a charmer I am told by a certain angel. *smiles* Thank you so much for joining me today. I do appreciate you taking time out of your, um busy schedule to do this interview. I know your time is precious so let us get right to it, shall we. Why don't you tell us a little about yourself? *blushes as he winks* Oh you are a charmer. *straighten my skirt and cross my legs to face him*

Cole:  ~Getting comfy in his chair he watches his interviewer as she fidgets in her chair, before she notices him watching .~
I'm just like anyone else with a little extra thrown in.
~With a slight tug on each cuff he smirks at the woman~
Some call me a demon, others call me an ass. But my wife calls me her Prince Charming.

Angela:
Prince Charming, yes, I can believe it. So how long have you been out of the dating pool, I mean married? *she clears her throat, blushing slightly*

Cole:  Long enough to make the misses happy and start nesting in our apartment.
~He wasn't going to mention the feather nest Sera made in the spare bedroom.~

Angela:  *Gives him a knowing look* Something tells me she is kept quite happy indeed. I understand that you've traveled around hell extensively and have several acquaintances there. Which of the many would be one that you could rely on carte blanche?

Cole:  ~Cocking a brow at the woman he snorted rudely~
There is no one you rely on in hell. To many trying to climb to the top of the food chain. I only rely on myself, and myself only.

Angela: Fair enough answer and very good information to know. For this next question I'd like you to think back to when you first met your lovely bride Seraphina. Tell me the first thing that popped into your head when you met her?

Cole:  First thing I thought was, she very different then anyone I'd ever met. ~He chuckles reminiscing for a second on how young they both had been back then.~

Angela: Different? How different. *She leaned forward pen at the ready* So you didn't think her beautiful? The other half of your soul right away? *This demon intrigued her, for it was like pulling teeth to get an answer from him*

Cole: ~Cocking his head at her he notices her inch closer to the edge of her seat~
Different as in she was stalking me through her mirror, and tracked me down. It took seven days before the soul part happened.
~Lips quirk up in a half smile~
My Sera is beautiful.

Angela:  Well of course she is and it doesn't surprise me that it took you so long to realize she was your soul mate, you are a man after all. *She smirked and looked at her notes with a twinkle in her eye.* Inquiring minds would like to know just what turns on a demon such as yourself? *blinks innocently at him*

Cole:  ~Leaning forward enough to make the woman lean back and swallow nervously. His knowing look was smug.~
You wouldn't be able to handle the likes of what turns on a demon such as I. The wife she knows what I like. That's all that matters.

Angela: *gulp thinking maybe it would be better to leave sleeping demons lie* Yes, of course. But she told me to ask you about your horns. Said to ask if you'd like them licked? *face redder than red, she fumbles with her papers and clears her throat* Moving on. Who would you say was the most interesting...er person you met in hell?

Cole: ~Shrugging his shoulders as if he could care less, while leaning back in his chair again~ The one who rules it of course. Use to be the Master, now it is my brother Kadic.

Angela: *Upon hearing that Cole has a brother she straightens her posture and smiles* A brother? Oh do tell us all about him. Is he single? You say he rules hell? Oh my oh my. Do you two have similar *smirks* attributes?

Cole:  He's a single white vampire. You can probably find him posted on Match dot com or some shit. ~Tapping his finger against his chest once he asks,~ Do I look like I'd compare man sizes with my brother?

Angela:  *Makes note that Cole is 'smaller in size and stature compared to his brother', all while smiling understandably* Well, those single ladies out there will have to check for themselves. You're impeccably dressed Cole, as usual. Do you help with the laundry or do you have a service? Boxers or briefs? Sleep in flannel or in the buff? *It isn't until she finishes firing these rather personal questions that she dare to lift her eyes to meet Cole's*

Cole: ~tilting his head to the side the smirk re-appeared on his lips~ The wife sends the laundry out to be done. Commando. Nude so my Sera can do anything she wants to me in the middle of the night.

Angela:  *Face red, she fans herself with her sheets of paper* Lucky woman, your Sera. Should we expect to see demels in the future? *At his quizzical look she explained* Children, half angel, half demon correct? And would you want your firstborn to be male or female?

Cole:  I'm sure there will be some one day, as for preference as long as it's a beautiful as my wife. Then sex does not matter. ~Waving off the half-breed word the woman made up~ It would not be this demel you speak of, it would be our child.

Angela: *Smiles* Spoken like a true loving father. Let's switch gears here as he wind down. *Consults her notes* Is it true that before you met Sera you had a thing for red heads? Oh and tell me about little Jeanie. My sources say your Sera is fond of her. *wait patiently as he tries not to answer her questions*

Cole: Before Sera, I had a thing for anything female. ~The wicked twinkle in his eyes left no doubt of what he was saying.~ The little vamp has attached herself to My Sera

Angela:  *Wishing she had met the wild demon before he succumbed to his angelic temptation she tucks a hair behind her ear.* Attached herself to your Sera? That sounds gruesome. It does, however, tell me to watch out for her teeth. What other advice would you give to those that may wander into your supernatural world?

Cole:  Don't get too chummy with your neighbors you never know what they might be. ~ He tells her in a teasing tone. Taking note that Sera was peeking her head into the room, before pulling back when she saw they were still doing the interview.~

Angela:  *Following his gaze she looked at her watch when she saw Sera peek into the room* Oh, I see our time is almost at hand. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me today, but one more question before you leave. What if someone out there is crazy enough not to have read the My Demon trilogy, should our readers head to one of the many venues to purchase each installment?

Cole:  They should. ~Standing up he pulled a paper out of his suit pocket. Handing her a piece of paper it listed all the links to his and Sera's story. Standing up he shook the interviewers hand and headed out of the room to find Sera waiting on the other side, already peppering him with 1001 questions about what the interview had consisted of~

Angela:  *Taking the paper she looks at it briefly, but watches Cole leave noting that as soon as his foot stepped over the threshold Sera was in his arms questioning him non-stop.* Well, not exactly what I was looking for in an answer, but at least he provided me with the following information. A must read for anyone who loves tall, handsome men, with a fiery side that would literally go to hell and back for his woman. Hot, sexy love scenes so that you want to switch places with Sera, or murder her in her sleep. *laughing she looks toward the door grateful neither Cole nor Sera heard her* Anyway, go out, buy the books and you too will be in love with Cole Astaroth.

Interview with Wheland & Rooster

12/8/2014

After taking a seat in front of Wheland and Rooster, I smile at the pair of them.  Actually, inwardly I am thinking what a hot couple they make, but I am keeping that little tidbit to myself, though I am pretty sure they know it.  It takes me a moment to get out of my own headspace and fantasy of the two of them, before I clear my throat and begin.

Leslie: So tell me, how did the two of you meet? This is just to break the ice, and don’t worry about embarrassing me, because I have heard and seen it all.

Wheland glances at Rooster and grins. "Do you want to tell her the story or should I?"

Rooster reaches over and squeezes Wheland's thigh.  "That one is all yours."

Wheland rubs at his face and stifles a laugh.  "He's allowing me to tell you because he likes to remind me about this all the time.  The real truth is, we met years ago but we were both running after different... things."

Rooster: "Things?  Really?  That's what you want to call it?"  Rooster looks over at Leslie. “He’s being polite.  We were both chasing pussy back then.  That's what he means to say."

Wheland: "Are you telling the story, or am I?"

Rooster:  "Go ahead.  I apologize for interrupting, but I want the story to be accurate."

Wheland: "It will be, now shut the fuck up."

Rooster rolls his eyes and winks at Leslie.

Wheland: “About a year ago Sonny blew back into town and I rear-ended him."

Rooster burst out laughing.  "Oh, you rear-ended me alright!  I never did get that car fixed."

My laughter fills the room at their comfortable exchange and I find myself shaking my head at their antics.  Looking around for a moment, I take in all of the lights and tree set up in the corner of the room.  I cannot help but smile at the packages already wrapped at the bottom of the tree and notice that their gazes have followed mine.

Leslie: I notice you guys have decorated for the holidays already.  I like it.  I guess this would be a good time to ask, what is your favorite holiday and what is your least favorite?

Rooster:  "I'm the one who decorated the tree.  Mick's idea of decorating is tossing some tinsel onto the neck of his guitars."

Wheland:  "True, but I am definitely a fan of the mistletoe."

Rooster smiles:  "You don't want to know what he does under that mistletoe."

Wheland:  "Babe, I wasn't going to tell her about that, and it wasn't what she was asking, either."

Rooster:  "Oh, right.  My favorite holiday is New Years Eve.  I like the premise of letting go of the old and bringing in the new; like a rebirth, or a do-over."

Wheland: "Getting rid of the old?  Are you referring to me?"

Rooster:  "I'm never getting rid of you.  You're stuck with me."

Wheland: "That's what I like to hear."  Wheland and Rooster were smiling at each other with matching stupid grins and Wheland realized he hadn't answered Leslie's question.  "Oh, sorry.  I lost my train of thought.  My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because I love to eat and Thanksgiving is all about the eating."

I notice they did not answer the least favorite and decide to not even bring it back up especially since I am trying to not laugh at the thought of tinsel on the guitars, which is not really a bad idea in my own mind.

Leslie: Wheland, I am with you on that whole decorating thing, I do it, but don't really enjoy it. But the mistletoe, I can soooooo get behind that tradition.  So, during the holidays do you guys plan on hanging out with the band and their spouses, boyfriends, or with family?  Or you going to do the whole couple thing and make the rounds or just spend it alone with each other?

Wheland:  "Christmas Eve we'll spend alone with each other.  It's a tradition we started last year because we were newly together and I was leaving right after the holidays to tour with my band."

Rooster:  "My mom recently passed, so this year we're going to start Christmas day with my Dad and sister, then end up at Alex's house with Mick's whole band."

Wheland:  "Along with everyone's significant others.  We'll all be there."

Rooster:  "Luckily, Alex, Chase, and Danni have a huge house."

Leslie:  Speaking of the couple thing, how is all that coming along?  I mean, you two look happy, but I know that the whole touring thing sucked for the both of you, and then with the passing of Rooster 's mom, that must have been rough on your whole relationship aspect?

Wheland: "Helping Sonny through the grieving process after we lost his mom brought us closer together."

Rooster:  "It did.  Mick is the strongest man I know and I really needed that strength to get me through some of those dark days."

Wheland reached for Rooster's hand and laced their fingers. "I think we draw off of each others strength every day."

Leslie:  And everything is cool with you guys and the band?

Wheland: "The guys all knew Sonny from years ago, so they accepted him right away.  I think it confused Tony and Jared at first, but they're cool about it now, and Cooper and Alex were always fine with us being a couple."

Rooster laughed softly:  "I think Tony and Jared are confused in general."

Wheland: "Yeah, confused with the boundaries of friendship."

Rooster: "Among other things."

Nodding, I get what they are saying, and lose my battle with laughter.  Even in a serious moment these two manage to add the humor that obviously gives their relationship spice.

Leslie:  Okay, so those boys are wandering around in a dark closet, I take it?  Pity!  Things are best when everything is out in the open.  I guess everything is out in the open between you two, so is it okay to ask, what is your favorite thing about one another?  Ohhhhhh, and don't think I just want some sappy response, be honest here boys!

Rooster turns to Wheland to answer Leslie:  “My sappy answer would be I love his eyes.  You can see every emotion he's feeling in them, but that's not what you're asking, is it?”

Wheland smirked and jumped in:  “I love Sonny's ass.”

Rooster shoulder bumps Wheland almost tipping him over on the couch.

Wheland:  “What?  It's the truth!  You have an amazing ass, babe.”

Rooster looks back at Leslie, his cheeks flushed red.  “Sorry about that.”

Wheland:  “Don't apologize for that ass.  It's a work of art.  I should also point out, your enormous cock is a thing of beauty, too.”

Rooster:  “Seriously, Mick?  She doesn't need to know how big my dick is.”

Wheland laughed:  “The size of your dick has been well documented over the years.  Did you know that's part of the reason behind his nickname?  Rooster = Cock.”

Leslie: While we are on this line of thought, is there anything about each other that drives you crazy, and not in the good way. Like...  as in 'Oh my GOD, if he makes that noise one more time, I am going to smack him stupid' kind of crazy?

Rooster:  “Right now, the lack of a filter on the words coming out of his mouth is annoying the shit out of me.”

Wheland:  “Sometimes Sonny takes life too seriously.  I do my best to keep him loosened up.”

The grin on Wheland's face has Rooster rolling his eyes again.

Rooster:  “This is an interview, Mick.  Do you really want her printing this shit?”

Wheland:  “Why not?  She said in the beginning she's seen and heard it all, and for us to be real.  This is us – the real us.”

Leslie:  Now, what about that other kind of crazy, you know, the goooooooood kind?

Rooster covers Wheland's mouth with his hand.  “You probably shouldn't ask Mick a question like that – unless you're looking for a blow-by-blow account of our sex life.”

Wheland:  “Blow-by-blow?  Did you really just say that?”

Rooster:  “I did.”

Wheland:  “I like the way you think, babe, but I was thinking of offering her one of our short video demos.”

Rooster:  “None of those videos are short, Mick.”

Leslie:  Oh my God, I love you guys.  Can I move in and just listen to you all day?

When Wheland smirks and practically preens, I shake my head and laugh loudly, especially when Rooster shoots him a playful glare. Without even knowing what he was about to say, I laugh again and cut him off.

Leslie:  Yeah, I know, you are loud, you make him scream... yada yada yada.  I don't doubt it, trust me, and while I think it would be hot to listen and watch, it's not... oh, hell, who am I kidding, of course it would, but that's totally not where I was going with this.  So, let me just ask you two a few more questions and then you can get back to that whole mistletoe, screaming, blow by blow amazing sex life of yours, cool?

Rooster, you seemed to have settled in to Wheland's house and now I am wondering... with all the weddings and proposals with the rest of your band, Wheland, will we be hearing wedding bells from the two of you any time soon, or is that question... off the table?  If it is, just ignore it, and how about answer... do you two someday see yourself taking vows and making it official?  Oh, wait, that is the same question, right?

For the first time during the interview, Wheland seems to be at a loss for words, like he were arranging the perfect answer inside his head.

Rooster:  “What's the matter, Mick?  Cat got your tongue?”

Wheland shook his head and drew in a long breath before he said:  “Planning a future with someone is serious shit.  It's not something I take lightly, but when I do think about the years ahead, I can't imagine anyone other than Sonny being beside me to share every moment of it.  Simply put, he's... my everything.”

Rooster leans closer to Wheland and presses their foreheads together:  “Jesus, that's beautiful.  No wonder I love you so much.”

Wheland covered Rooster's mouth for a searing kiss, then said:  “Love you, too.”

Leslie:  What about kids and all that?  The house with the picket fence?  Is that something that sounds good or is the lure of rock and roll lifestyle too much to think of all of that right now?

Wheland:  “Actually, we've been discussing the possibility of using a surrogate to have a couple of kids with.”

Rooster:  “It won't happen right away, but maybe down the road a bit.”

Wheland:  “It's nice to have the option, though.”

Leslie:  Just to wrap this up, how about you both describe to me and our readers the perfect happily ever after for the two of you

Wheland glances at Rooster again and smiles.  “Damn, she asked another serious question.  I'd much rather give a more in depth account of our sex life.  What'd you think?”

Rooster:  “I think neither she, nor the readers, are all that interested in our sex life.”

Wheland:  “That's just your opinion.  I think they'd all love to know more about our bedroom antics.”

Rooster:  “Doubtful, so just answer the damn question.”

Wheland:  “Okay, fine.”  Wheland took his time pondering the question some more, then said:  “Sonny has a cabin in a very isolated location that very few people know about.  I recently had the extreme pleasure of visiting and loved everything about it.”  Wheland reached for Rooster's hand again, twined their fingers together, and set both their hands onto his thigh.  “Watching the sunsets from the deck of this cottage overlooking the lake and writing music together... I can't think of a more perfect 'happily-ever-after' for us than that.”

Rooster:  “And, being naked 24/7.”

Wheland: “Ahhh, and now who's got the dirty mind?”

Leslie:  You know, Wheland, they say a dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste. I think you will be safe though. Both of you!

Rising from my seat, I stand and watch as they do the same. Extending my hand intending to say 'Thank You' and be on my way, I am pleasantly surprised to be pulled into a hug by both of them.  On a final parting, I lean in between in them and speak in a low voice

Leslie: You know, everyone is interested in your sex life.  It is what gives that extra bit of intrigue to your life, and makes the pair of you incredibly hot... which you are.  So, thank you again for the interview, and I am going to take my leave now... and stand outside your door, and pretend to not listen to what happens when it closes behind me, okay?

Making my way to the door, I spy the mistletoe above my head and laugh softly. Ohhhh, yeah, what's not to love about mistletoe...? Hell, what's not to love about Wheland and Rooster, because after today, I could not find a single thing I did not adore about them!

Interview with Scott from "Up-Ending Tad" A Journey of Erotic Discovery

12/2/2014

Meagen: She walks toward the front door of the house. It seems fairly unassuming and there is no indication that anything she'd read about goes on behind these doors, but she has to admit, she's a bit nervous to interview the man she's been reading about. He intrigues her in the books and now she is going to meet him. Her hands are a bit clammy as she knocks and waits. She could not have prepared herself for what greets her as he answers the door. He stands there, barefoot and in low slung jeans wearing a white t-shirt that just hugs his body perfectly. When he greets her, it is all she can do not to trip over her own feet as he leads her inside.

Scott: Regarding his little visitor, Scott smiles. “Hey, there. I've been expecting you.” At her shy smile and slight wave, he chuckles and motions her inside. “Come on in. Thought it'd be fitting that we do this downstairs.” Leading the way, he takes things to the basement, lips twitching as he walks them into the dungeon and gestures for her to have a seat on the sex swing. “Max said it'd be okay if we hung out in here.” He grabs a spot on the spanking bench opposite her and smiles. “Hope that’s okay with you.”

Meagen: Trying to look professional, like she does this all the time, she feels her cheeks heat as he leads her down into the playroom she's read about in the books. He walks her to the swing and offers it as a seat. It is all she can do not to squirm. He knows it, too, based on the smirk he is sporting as he sits across from her. She realizes he's asked her a question and she tries to gather her thoughts as she sits her bag down and pulls out some paper and a pencil. "This is fine. I'm glad you agreed to let me interview you." She relaxes slightly and lets the swing take her weight as it swings gently back and forth. "So, Scott, did you choose this room for shock value or because it is easier to talk in your element, so to speak?" Her eyes wander all over the room, taking in the items she's read about in the books. When she looks back at him, he is watching her with a knowing glint in his eyes. She smiles and shakes her head waiting for him to respond.

Scott: Laughing, he gives a shrug. “Thought it'd be more interesting than my gym. But I guess we could've done this over a massage.” He thumb-points over his shoulder, lips twitching. “Not too late, actually. You feeling stiff?”

Meagen: Laughing, she sits back a little in the swing trying to look relaxed when she is anything but. Just being around him makes her nervous for some reason. She clears her throat. "No. I'm good. Thanks, though. So, tell me, what got you into weight training and the extracurricular training you do here? The two in your story are meshed together in my mind." She watches him and can't help but stare. He has such an easy way about him, she can't help but add, "And at the same time, when did you become so comfortable with yourself and this lifestyle?"

Scott: “Well,” he starts, scratching his stubbly cheek, “after I landed a job at the local gym, I ended up spending a lot of my down-time lifting.” He smiles. “I fell in love with it. Such a rush to possess so much power. But the training I do here encompasses personal training in general. Getting people in shape.” When Meagen lifts a surprised brow, he laughs. “What. You thought I trained in HERE? You thought I Dom'ed for a living, too?” He shakes his head. “Nooo. I only help Max out if something comes up and he can’t make an appointment. He taught me enough in the past that I know what I’m doing, so it’s not hard or a big deal. But yeah, I only do random stuff once in a blue moon.” He shrugs again. “But I AM comfortable with it. Have been ever since I truly grasped the Dom/sub dynamic. Not just the techniques and activities that they engage in, but the needs a Dom and sub fulfill for one another. Which are surprisingly extensive. It really made me appreciate the beauty of a dominant’s job especially, though.” His gaze shifts away. “They can be the most unexpected kind of healer...” Clearing his throat, he seems to snap out of it. “Wow,” he chuckles, ruffling his head of chocolate spikes. “Was that TMI?”

Meagen: Smiling, she shakes her head while taking notes. “Not at all. I guess I envy the ease with which you handle yourself with Tad and field his questions as he gets to know you. He's so hesitant and you are patient with him. It's impressive. What drew you to him? He is not sure about who he is or what he wants and you seem to be past that point in your life. You're confident and know what you want out of life. I'd imagine that is a little intimidating for Tad, even though he is intrigued." She is rambling and shakes her head. "Sorry. I've been intrigued myself and can't wait to learn more."

Scott: A smile tugs at his lips. “No worries. Tad HAS been hesitant, which I get, but yeah, it definitely leaves one curious about a lot of stuff.” Absently he eyes the demonstration room door. “As far as what drew me to him?” His head tilts, his smile widening just slightly. “I think it was his eyes at first. All that green and blue and gold looking back at me from my doorstep. But then he opened his mouth and…” He chuckles, shaking his head. “He put up such a tough front, but was so adorably nervous beneath it all.” His smile ebbs. “But it was the WAY he looked at me, too. With this unexpected kind of trust. And curiosity. And realness. It made me want to know him. Experience him. Inside and out. But especially to help him to see.” His smile turns sheepish as he gives another shrug. “Not really sure how to explain it more than that.”

Meagen: Tilts her head, watching his face as he speaks about Tad. "Have you been in a lot of serious relationships before and is that something you would want to explore with Tad?" Scott leans forward, settling his elbows on his knees. She watches him drop his head. "If that is too personal, I'll take it off the table. I just really find the dynamics between the two of you interesting." She clears her throat. "Gah. I'm so nervous interviewing you. I love your story and I know what I want to see happen between you and Tad, but I don't want to assume.” She knows her cheeks are pink because she’s now overly warm and hopes she hasn't offended him.

Scott: Lifts his head and chuckles, straightening back up. “Kinda frustrating not knowing, isn’t it?” He grins as Meagen nods with a laugh. “Right there with you, girl.” He crosses his arms and sighs. “Alright. Let’s see. Have I been in a lot of serious relationships.” Shrugging, he scratches his neck. “I guess that depends on your definition of serious. Because I’ve been in a few that lasted a while. But in hindsight, I wouldn’t say they were happy. Or healthy, for that matter. So, even though at the time I was young and stupid and thought my heart was in it, now I can say with certainty that it wasn’t. So were they serious?” His expression tightens. “I’m gonna have to say no.” Shifting on the bench, he clears his throat and looks down. “With Tad it wouldn’t be like that, though. I know it wouldn’t. I’ve grown a lot in the last couple years and am looking for different things in a partner now.” A warm smile emerges. “Yeah, he’d be the exception to my present no-dating motto.” He chuckles, looking back up. “Shit, he’s kinda like a free start-over pass. Like a clean slate or something. And with his situation, he’s like a fresh canvas, too.” He smiles at Meagen. “And I like the idea of that a lot.” His lips curve higher. “So I guess you and me are on the same page... with what we want to see happen between him and me.” He grunts humorlessly. “Which is more than I can say for Max at the moment.”

Meagen: Looks at him, starts to ask a question, then stops. He tilts his head and raises his brows, waiting for her to say something. "Well, alright. Since you brought Max up, I have to ask. Did you and Max have a relationship beyond being roommates and friends? I mean...I'm not asking this well, but does Max have feelings for you?"

Scott: “Mm. That's a uh... interesting question.” Absently he rubs the back of his neck. “My relationship with Max is... well... it's hard to categorize, really. But we're close.” His lips purse in thought. “Friends. And yet different. More… but not.” Nodding to himself, he rubs the tops of his thighs. “Max and me, we're good.” He smirks. “Don’t get me wrong; he can be a dick at times, but he's got his reasons. Not that that excuses his behavior. It’s just… well, it’s complicated.” When Meagen frowns, he stills. “But he won’t come between me and Tad, if that’s what you’re wondering.” He shakes his head. “No way. Not now. Not ever.”

Meagen: Laughs. “Well, that’s good, Mr. Evasive.” Pushing off with her foot, the swing starts to move. All of the sudden, she realizes what she is truly sitting on. She feels her body flush and clears her throat, but hears Scott chuckle like he knows what just flashed through her mind. Rushing to change the subject, she blurts out the first thing that comes to mind. "Do a lot of women come down here? I mean, we read about men who come to you all, but what about women?"

Scott: Nodding amicably, he shrugs. “Sure. Yeah, we definitely have women down here.” His grin turns wolfish. “Max and I are equal opportunity torturers.” When Meagen lifts a brow, he laughs unapologetically, holding his hands out to his sides. “I'm a personal trainer, it's what I do. Hell, some—including Tad—would probably go so far as to call me a personal tormentor.” He grins. “And they'd be right. I do, in fact, enjoy making all genders suffer.” He snickers, then shakes his head. “Nah. I’m not that bad. But I do train men AND women. And Max caters to both, as well. Though, the ladies don't get the full service from him like some of the guys do.... if you know what I mean.” He gives Meagen a knowing smirk. “Unlike that seat you're perched on, he only swings one way.”

Meagen: She glances down at the swing and laughs. "Alright. Interesting." Eyeing her notes, she licks her lips, then looks back up at him. "So, will you give any hints about what you did to the guys who set Tad up? I know they were pretty beat up when Tad saw them again, but it is never revealed what happened."

Scott: His mouth quirks into a faint, dark grin. “I did exactly what I told Tad I was gonna do. Had them over for some practice sparring. They've been wanting to come to my kickboxing class, so I treated them to a private session.” He shrugs and glances away. “They weren't very good. Even for beginners.” Lips pursing, his eyes flash. “They deserved what they got, though. So I won't be making any apologies.” He looks back at Meagen, his tight expression softening into a smile. “So, Tad saw the aftermath, eh? He never mentioned it.” Meagen nods, grinning. He chuckles, scratching his cheek. “Good. So he knows they won't be bothering him again anytime soon.”

Meagen: "Good. They did deserve it. And speaking of Tad..." She hesitates, but Scott urges her to continue with a playful expression. "Well, the last book ended with you two promising to get together on 'his turf' and I was shocked that it ended there." He laughed and nodded. "So, when you go to see him there, you might meet some of his friends. How do you think that will go? Do you think he'll be able to handle that? Will you be able to handle that?"

Scott: He straightens his back and sighs. “Oh, I'll be able to handle it just fine. But Tad... I dunno. Honestly, I highly doubt he'd allow his friends to be there if I ever came over.” He shakes his head. “He didn’t take Max’s little discovery very well.” Wincing, he tilts his head. “Granted, Max was being a tool about it all but...” He shakes his head again. “I just hope it didn’t set Tad back in his head. I'm getting the impression he's taking shit one step at a time, realizing stuff about himself, by himself. But I don't think he's had a chance to really think about how his friends and family would factor into things. Max seemed like a kind of rude awakening.” He gives a slight shrug. “But Tad has to do this on his own. Hopefully he’ll figure out a way to include me in his life. Because keeping things separate… it just doesn’t work.”

Meagen: Nodding in understanding, she makes her last couple notes then looks back up at him. "I really appreciate you taking the time to meet with me and answer my questions. You have satisfied some of my curiosity, though I'm sure I'll have more questions after the next book." She goes to stand up but can't quite get her feet on the floor from the swing. Scott grins and stands to help her up. Once on her feet again, she smiles up at him and puts her hand out. "You've been really open and honest with me. You didn't have to do that, but you are exactly how I imagined you. Thanks so much for the time. I can't wait to see what happens next."

Scott: "You and me both," he murmurs, leading the way back out. When they reach the foyer, he turns to Meagan and smirk wryly. "Maybe you should have a Q & A with Tad next. You could ask him some really probing stuff. You know, about him and me.” His smile flat-out reaches his eyes. “And then you could shoot me over his answers." Meagen giggles, heading out the door. "I'm serious," he laughs, lifting a hand in farewell as she goes. "Shy boy can be pretty tight-lipped. You might be my only hope in finding out what’s going on in that head of his."

Today we are interviewing Sparky from
"Payce's Passion" (The Passion Series Book 3)
By Piper Kay

Picture
Evermore: Thank you for being here today, can you tell us your name please?

Sparky: I can't tell you. It's required, fine, but don't laugh, It's Serge, but please don't say it, just call me Sparky. I'm hypersensitive you know, If I go into anaphylactic shock, it's your fault.

Evermore: Nice to meet you Sparky. Tell us are you married, single, or engaged?

Sparky: Singl-ish. Are you talking like a real marriage ~whispers~ or just the one in my head? Let's go with my imaginary marriage. ~raises voice~ His name is Ash, and Oh Ma Gawd. Can you say Hot Mess Walking? That man is the ding in my dong, the cheese in my cake, the pop in my tart. We're very happily married too. Okay, really we're not exactly legally married. Texas doesn't allow the whole gay marriage thing, yet. We plan to get married one day, I think. We sort of live together though, so we might as well be married. I choose to look at the positive of it all.

Evermore: ~smiles at Sparky~ Alrighty then, can you tell us where you're currently residing?

Sparky: In Yee-Haw Texas. Born and raised right here in Houston. ~slaps own knee~ Giddy up!

Evermore: Tell me, what is your idea of the perfect day?

Sparky: A perfect day. ~taps fingers on desk, thing springs up out of the chair~ I've got it. Any day with my little pom-pom, but especially on family days. Payce and Brax, along with Damien and Dax, join in with myself and Ash. We're extremely close. Closer than most, but we're all we have.  Technically, we're not blood related, but we were lucky enough to find and choose each other and become one big unit, our own family. ~winks at interviewer~ We chose each other, and we function just like any other family would. Oh wait a minute, chickadee. points finger and grins~ You're mind just went kinky, didn't it? Naughty girl. It is not even like that at all. Dax and Damien are a couple. Payce and Brax, then me and Ash. We're not having some big ole massive orgy or something. You are bad. Anyway we don't have to be doing anything important either. We can just watch a ballgame or shoot the shit and it's a blast.

Evermore: Ah ya caught me ~Chuckles~ Tell me what would you do if you come face-to-face with your worst enemy. What is your first reaction?

Sparky: I did, and let me tell you what happened, Ms. Naughty Pants. So there was this guy named Aaron, and he was a real bad guy, really, really bad and a total nutter. Well, he grew up with Payce and Brax, but we didn't know that, nor did we know that he also used to live with Damien. It was a shock when everyone found out about everyone else. You still with me, Miss Kinky britches?

Good, so any hoo, Mr. Hotshot Aaron decided to make the moves on my man, Ash. Can you even believe that? Well do, because that is just what he did, that rotten bastard. Of course.this was before we were together, so I can't complain too much about it. Well...yes I can, I sure can. He was after my man. Ash has always been my man, even when he didn't know it. ~laughs~
Anyway, long story short, he was handed his ass on a shiny silver Serge platter. He held a gun on us, and I was not going out that way, no siree. I watched him real close and put all those years of kickboxing to use, right upside his head. hahahaha

Evermore: Wow sounds like a hell of time there. ~Runs her finger down the list of questions before asking~ What or who is the greatest love of your life?

Sparky: I might have mentioned him already (lol) but his name is Ash Dayton. He is the love of my life. Ash was created especially for me and he is my soul mate. That covers the "who" part, now for the "what" part. My family.

Evermore: What is your greatest fear Sparky?

Sparky: Chickens. I hate those things. The way they cock that neck and stare at you with those little beady eyes and that rubbery ruffle thing they have going on. Do not even get me started on their beaks and those three toed feet, all prong looking. Freaks of freaking nature.

Evermore: ~lips twitching in amusement~ Sparky tell me, what do you like to wear on a daily basis?

Sparky: Well, you tell me. Do I look fetch tonight or what? I always dress this way. It's important to keep up with yourself, make yourself presentable for whatever situation may occur. Looks expensive huh, but it's not. ~whispers~ Discount warehouse and resale shops do the trick. ~brings finger to lips to making the shush sound~

Evermore: ~nods to let him know mum was the word~ Lets see that brings me to the question of how opinionated are you? Do you like to share those opinions with others or keep them to yourself?

Sparky: Me, I'm shy, never say a word about anything.NOT! Just kidding, I am not shy in one littttttttttle bitty bit, and I am very opinionated. I mean, I don't force it or try to be that way really, just when something pops, it pops. Usually directly out of my mouth, but that is beside the point, right? My friends think I get a little hyped up, but it's just me. I only express whatever is on my mind though, like those to die for shoes you have on. Totally fab.

Evermore: What is the quality you most like in a person?

Sparky: Just one? Hmmm... ~scrunches one eyebrow~ Sincerity. If you are truly sincere, then you pretty much cover every characteristic there is. True? That's how I feel about it, that's why I love my little man made family. They're good hearted, unselfish, compassionate, loving, honest. they're men of integrity.

Evermore: Very good qualities indeed. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Sparky: Hello? Anaphylactic shock ringing any bells? Yes, I would change my name in a heartbeat, never thinking twice about it again. I mean seriously, my mother says it's all behind some hunky hockey player she had the hots for, who even freaking knows. I think she must have eaten paint chips or something because who in their right freaking mind does that to a poor innocent child. I mean, I live it Texas, not Morocco, or wherever that name originated at. France. that's it. I mean they're only separated by a whole freaking Mediterranean Sea for Pete's sake, oh and Spain too, I totally get the mix up...not

Evermore: What is your current occupation?

Sparky: I'm a manager at Braxton's Tavern and Grill. Not too bad for being twenty years old huh?

Evermore: Not bad at all What is your favorite type of music? What do you like to listen to?

Sparky: I like it all, except for that cry in my beer country music. I do not like that one bit. I guess I would say top 40, pop, hip hop type. Club music.

Evermore: If you had a favorite season what would it be?

Sparky: Well not really any of them to be honest. In Texas, we blow through all four seasons in a dang day. Swear we do. If I had to pick, I'd go with Spring, but if flies by so fast, I'd hardly call it a season at all.

Evermore: Do you have any pets?

Sparky: I don't have any right now. I work to many hours to leave a poor animal stuck at home all day and night by itself.

Evermore: What is the last thing you do before going to bed at night?

Sparky: Kiss my little pom-pom.

Evermore: If we opened your wallet. What would we find?

Sparky: About eighty bucks, toll road receipts, my ID, two credit cards, business cards from customers and a picture of me and Ash. Oh and an order ticket that he used to write his first note to me on.

Evermore:  Do you have any siblings?

Sparky: Nope, I'm an only child. So is Ash.

Evermore: If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

Sparky: Wow, you're kind of morbid, aren't you? Naughty and a little unnerving too. Spend the whole day with my family making sure they knew how important they are to me, then taken them out to the go-cart park and race, then gorge on Baskin Robbins ice cream, and take my pom-pom home and to bed.

Evermore: See though you know what you'd do ~Winks at Sparky, and holding out her hand to shake his~ Thank you for stopping by, and taking the time to answer some questions. ~Getting a handshake in return before turning to the audience~
